Who's the Boss has probably aged the best of the big 1980s family sitcoms.

The Cosby Show will never see the light of day again because of what we now know about it. Family Ties embodied Reagan-era ideals the most so its very much a product of its time. Growing Pains hasn't held up well for me because of Kirk Cameron being a religious nut job and Tracey Gold health issues during the show's run.

With all due respect, @kalbir, I must disagree.  I think TCS will see the light of day again, once we learn how to separate the artist from his/her/their work, because of the positive images that the show still presents about black families in this country.  It never reinforced stereotypes the way shows like "Beulah" or "Amos & Andy" did - two shows, IMO, that come closer to never seeing the light of day again beyond cultural studies about the depictions of race on American television in its' earliest days.

Not to derail this thread, but I don't deny the impact of The Cosby Show in both television history and popular culture. Perhaps you are right and I was being a bit too harsh.
