Hmm I'm not sure how I feel about this.  I'm not a fan of Sloan to begin with.  The schemer switching paternity tests; stealing babies; the man dumbed down without a clue.  It's kind of gotten old?

The Ericole storyline is the best story of the year (in my opinion).

I prefer to fastforward through anything Leo, but Ron puts him in a story I care about.  eww

I know it is too much to hope for a unique twist for a baby switch story, but I feel like we all know the beats - Nicole cries, Sloan looks guilty after running into Nicole twice, the baby needs a DNA test for a blood transfusion, Eric is a match, the kids figure out that the baby was switched, etc, etc -  and that baby will be back in Nicole's arms by Xmas.  Only to be promptly SORASed in five years.

I'm sure he knows that there's no storyline for Leo, but he's not gonna give him up, so he just shoehorns him into anything he can think of.

I said above "The Ericole storyline is the best story of the year (in my opinion)."

Well actually, it's somewhat lame and predictable storyline BUT..
I think Greg Vaughan and Ari Zucker will totally keep me pulled in.
In my opinion they do this angst stuff so well.

I don't like Sloan but I think Jessica Serfaty is playing a good foil.
I preferred Sloan smarter and less desperate; but they are plugging her into this role and now writing her this way.  I think the actress will do well despite the material.

Part of this is the plug-and-play writing where they plug characters into the plot to do whatever to serve the plot.

They've used out-of-character corporate shares storylines for "scheming Gabi", but that's not what the actual character of Gabi was best at scheming about.  They simply wrote Gabi as a generic DiMera.  Annoying.

Now they've written out Gabi with Camila's exit.
So now Sloan will be written as the next generic schemer.  I hope Jessica can give some life to this tired babyswitch plot.

I know. I feel like we've seen this story SOOOO many times now. The show needs some fresh writing...STAT.

I agree with all of this.

Whether or not the storylines make sense or will be trite ... I thought the promo itself was well-made.

I agree—great promo.  This is def. the best story on the show but so much of this is outrageously plot-driven.  If they really want a Nicole baby switch, they should be involving Brady and Chad and play the parallels for all they’re worth… Sami missing is obvs. huge.  But I’ll never take this EJ & Nicole reunion seriously.
