Yes but Fi-Core writers are allowed to write during the strike for non struck work. Daytime soaps are non struck work.

Just to pick a nit here but GH is picketed this strike & they were last strike, too.

Just to clarify, Financial Core as a union status was not created by the WGA. It stems from labor disputes involving non-entertainment unions. It began after court cases that were brought about to ensure that workers were not forced to join a union in order to be employed. It was decided that since they benefit from those union contracts and protections, they must pay fees related to bargaining but are not considered Union members. Contracts in the entertainment industry have the most leeway with this because so many people are willing to cross the picket line, and or work on non-union productions. Which weakens collective bargaining for the whole.

Thank you. I thought that it existed from whatever circumstances but that the WGA adopted it at a certain point, if you see what I mean. And, that was not correct, I see now. It was just that at a certain point it had come into being & then people began to avail themselves of it.

They were picketed but they are in a different contract and can continue to produce episodes

Of course, I know that. The point is that in real life things are not so neat & tidy. The people working at GH have had to cross the picket line since May 2nd. The show is doing what it is supposed to be doing & the employees are doing what they're supposed to be doing, yet, they're picketed. It just is what it is.

Damn Jane Elliott is still a beautiful woman. She looks amazing. The show is so much better when she's on I wish she could stay forever. Of course, she has more than earned her retirement.

Wow! I can't believe our good fortune. I never thought she'd come back for an extended stay.

You can say that again.

Fantastic news! I can't get enough of Tracy.

Last night I got on here, after watching the show on Hulu, to talk about the show & got derailed by talk of Fi-Core & scabs & pickets. Mostly I just wanted to say 2 things. I'm very glad that Carly is going to be running Kelly's. That fits. I'm somewhat surprised they didn't go ahead & deal with Bobbie's death & have her leave it to Carly in her will. But, no matter. And, I was incredibly pleased that Nina's short visit to the gatehouse went well. There's a baby step that is not so baby & it has now happened. Nina & Willow need to be on a redemptive arc & it's high time they started down that road. As we know, the show drags things out. Oh, I guess this is a PS of sorts, I hated Betty the new nanny & wanted Ava to deck her. It was hilarious how Sonny saw through Ava's attempt to follow the nanny's orders & just as well that he is now filled in on the story junque that revolves around Cousin Mason. Who the heck was the dadgummed dead guy?

The writers went on strike before Jackie Zeman died. I would hope Frank would tell fi core writers not to touch that and it will be addressed after the WGA strike ends.

Oh, sure, I completely understand why they haven't addressed her death yet, nor should they till after the strike. It's just one of those moments in story which would've been perfect, is all.

I am really disgusted that a primetime actress is calling for people to stop watching GH
