Webmaster Errol Posted April 30, 2022 Webmaster Share Posted April 30, 2022 After a lengthy absence, actor Michael E. Knight will be back in Port Charles during the week of May 2, 2022 as Martin Grey, brother of Laura Collins (Genia Francis) and the love interest of Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring). Upon his return, Martin and Lucy are forced to defend their relationship to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), more specifically Martin must decide between his friendship with a Cassadine or his growing romance with the Deception powerhouse. The show’s co-head writers Dan O’Connor and Chris Van Etten, and Herring teased the plot in the current issue of Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands now. “Martin returns to Port Charles, and he must finally choose between his friendship with Valentin and his budding relationship with Lucy,” says O’Connor. “Or you could say, choose between love and money!” commented Van Etten. Meanwhile, Herring reveals how she found out Knight would be back on the canvas. “I said to Frank [Valentini, executive producer], ‘Where’s Martin?’ And he told me, ‘Oh, I think you’re gonna like it! His first show back, you throw your dress on his head!’ I said, ‘Okay! This is good!’” Storyline-wise, however, Herring shares, “I think she [Lucy] needs to know if he’ll choose being with her over being Valentin’s lawyer.” Regardless of the outcome, Herring has been enjoying her time working alongside Knight, telling Digest, “He is such a joy to work with,” and noted, “We bring so much history and I think we’re always winking at the audience – without even meaning to.” Look for Knight beginning Tuesday, May 3. Members David_Vickers
Why is the soap media saying Michael E. Knight is returning to GH?!??!! Knight NEVER left! Knight is on recurring!! What the hell!?!
Webmaster Errol Posted May 1, 2022 Author Webmaster Share Posted May 1, 2022 Based on the above it's not the media, it's the show itself. Note Herring's comments and what the co-head writers said.
Members Contessa Donatella
Oh, goodie! Hot d*mn, MEK back, not a minute too soon. And, next up, doins with Miz Coe!
Members Khan
I love MEK as much as the next guy, but I do think it's a little ridiculous for the show to go to such fuss over a recurring actor/character.
Members David_Vickers
Then will correct my comment to why is GH stating Michael E. Knight's "returning", when he's on recurring like he has always been since joining GH!
Members RavenWhitney
Hopefully, he loses the very bad accent like Kim Zimmer's Reva, or his scenes will be painful to watch.
Members Contessa Donatella
Now, I've got a blind spot, absolute pet peeve about bad accents & I find his effective. YMMV. I'm not on the accent warpath on anyone besides DOOL's Clyde.
Members Khan
I don't even know where the accent comes from! Like, is he supposed to be Southern or Boston Brahmin or...?
Members Contessa Donatella
If it's not Southern then I have to drop the defense of it. It sounds Southern to this Southerner.
