Members Bree
I'm not sure what country this is from but there was a soap about two cowboys falling in love. This video is scenes from the soap set to "Iris" by the Goo-Goo Dolls. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DoWvDKc5skA&search=soap%20operas
Members Matt
Holy Mary mother of God! That was freaking spellbinding. In just that video, I was fully drawn into the story -- I didn't have to hear one word of dialog to understand everything going on. IMO, those actors were unbelievably fantastic. I now want to see this soap!
Members Bree
Yeah it really draws you in doesn't it? And the one cowboy looks like the love child of Colin Farrell and Enrique Iglasias.

Members R!ck
Well after some research and some horrible translation problems, I found out the soap/novel was called "America" And it aired in Brazil during 2004-2005 @ 8pm. The show averaged a 30.4/27 If you compared the share (number of people watching) to our numbers it would be about 25.6 million viewers. Could you imagine a primetime US soap airing 5 days a week and getting 25+ million viewers? And the kiss never happened Here's a badly translated article To speak that in Brazil everything is made before or after the "soap opera of the eight" is not an exaggeration nor one estereotipo. The novels pass the day everything here showing shown novels before, latino americanos novels of others paises, and the famous novel of the eight, that in reality it passes the nine, but as before passed the eight and half one, all in Brazil if they had accustomed calls it "it novel the eight." The Brazilians, since the children tie the visavos, since the "elite" tie "favelados" if they reunem, front to the television set to attend the "novel of the eight," to beat papo in the work on the events of capitolo of the previous night, and ties arrive to know strangers in the streets or onibus if if they find speaking of the novel. Brazil, to the equal one that many others paises Latino americanos, including, Mexico, Argentina, and Venezuela, is one of paises with the biggest production and exportation of soap operas. Of all the television nets, the biggest net, the Redeglobo, that belong to one of biggest the company of communication in Brazil, the Globe, are the producing and exporting greater of novels. E is therefore that here in Brazil, the famous "novel of the eight," is famous since passes in the Redeglobo. The soap opera is an integral part of the Brazilian culture. E is therefore that it has been one strong source for researchers, teoricos, and I publish it in general to comprender, to study, and to criticize the "Brazilian culture" and the social one in this country. The novel placed in the "session of the eight" in the 2004-2005 was America, a novel written by Gloria Perez, who deals with on dealt questions immigration Brazilians to the United States and the life in the hinterland, here in Brazil, among others questions that all the other novels tamben argue: the love. The novel, that each day was watched for more than 10 million viewers, seemed to have taken the work to finish with varios preconceptions against, blind people, sertanejos, and on all homosexuais. It enters the polemicas presented for the novel, the one that parecio to have been more controversiai was of the Junior(Bruno Gagliasso) the "discovery" of its homosexualidade, the fact to assume its sexuality over all and the "kiss," between it and Zeca (Erom Lamb) that in it finishes week of America the viewers had been asked if would have to happen not. This polemica that was the debate of the week culminate of the novel, had tudos in Brazil "talking about it - in pubs, in the measured and around the to dinner table: will there be gay kiss on television on Friday night? Brazil is expected you eats you the a standstill at 2100 (2300 GMT) in anticipation "in accordance with Read Bock of BBC News. "If, expected, Junior and Zeca of kiss passionately in the finale of the soap operates America - it will be first will be Brazilian TV," continues saying to reporter giving enfasis in the question of this being the first kiss gay in the history of the Brazilian television. However the kiss never happened. What we see at the last in the video was followed by the closing credits.
