It really is. I'm so sorry she lost her battle with depression.

Ashley Judd is quoted: "That is the level of catastrophe of what was going on inside of her. Because the barrier between the regard in which they held her couldn't penetrate into her heart and the lie the disease told her was so convincing." That's a pretty accurate representation of the impact of depression on self-esteem.

Totally. It’s a really illuminating and helpful way of framing the disease.

It really is. And Naomi succumbing to the lie in her head that she was somehow worthless and/or alone in this world. This is actually something a lot of people, not just those struggling with depression, can relate to. We've all felt this way to differing extents.

There is a video with Diane Sawyer and Ashley Judd from a GMA interview posted on Yahoo’s homepage. The grief from Ashley is palpable.

Yesterday, the mother of Cheslie Kryst spoke about the waves of grief that wash over her after a day when she feels like she could be alright.

You can just feel how much these women are trying to cope the best way they can. It is illuminating. And painful.

By the way, that interview with Kryst’s  mother was from CBS Mornings.

It appears that John Aylward, best known as Dr. Anspaugh on ER, has apparently passed away. I say apparently because I guess there are unconfirmed reports. If true, may Mr. Aylward RIP. Dr. Anspaugh was a great character.
