He's three hours late to the one in Michigan. Pulling a Lauryn Hill! Folks leaving in the cold.

He's one of the very few Beltway people not pissed about this, at least. So contrarian of him.

The Soon-Shiong thing seems like a perfect storm of nonsense to me: The father is a Musk comrade in arms, the daughter is a rich dirtbag idiot.

Lauryn runs hot and cold. Any performance involving her son Y.G. and she shows up! She did a sizzling set in Jamaica over the summer which left many of her U.S. fans steamed. There, she not only showed up, she showed out! It was actually phenomenal. Sorry to those folks she bailed on previously but she demonstrated that when she actually puts the effort in, she still ‘got it’.
And thankfully, she’s not running for president, although people seem hold her to a higher standard than a man who is running for president. Go figure.

@Vee Levi gets more and more pathetic. Now essentially encouraging everyone in Hollywood to grift to the right because of the death of the industry. I imagine he now fully believes his career was ruined by the evil wokies, rather than being an overgrown child and clearly trapped in a cult.

Speaking of pathetic...I would guess most of these trust fund kids would tell you Ukraine is full of Nazis.

The flippancy of this, along with her very sneering replies to people, are a good reminder of how much of a game everything is to the DC circuit. "Democracy flex" indeed.

This is ludicrous (and her father came out directly denying this and saying she had no role, which makes it even more of a shitshow). But the NYT piece here is a good background on the Soon-Shiongs' meddling at the LA Times. As always, run it through archive.org. I hate linking to Yashar.

Meanwhile:

NBC News has put out a piece about Dearborn residents, spotlighting the toxic Linda Sarsour (who isn't even from Dearborn) complete with photos that suggest they invested in her cabaret act, and not even going into the many other issues pushing a number of Arab Americans toward the GOP (as shown in the 2022 results).

I'm seeing a lot of people saying don't cancel the Washington Post, cancel Amazon Prime. My response would be some people have a use for Amazon Prime. I have no idea what purpose the Washington Post serves today. Is it so they can shame Kamala Harris for visiting a family member's grave, like they did to Joe Biden? Maybe to lash out if she doesn't invite them to a wedding, like they did with Biden? Or giddily race up to a Republican senator to show her mean tweets a Harris nominee made about her, as they did with Biden?

This reporter deciding to have a pity party on Twitter because her mother canceled her subscription is a great example of how out of touch they are:

@DRW50 Since you mentioned Dearborn, thought I would share this.

People need to stop in general profiling groups of people(we have all done the same at times) as if they all behave and act the same. There are likely issues and concerns that I share with other women but there are certainly things we might disagree on. Lord knows how many especially white women voted for that creature in 2016 and 2020.  All Arab Americans do not think alike about everything.  This is an interesting piece of information since so many are proclaiming Trump won the Arab American vote in MI because of a few clowns endorsing him.

Zaid Jilani, like anyone from The Intercept, has always been repulsive, but he seems especially proud of his bigotry and misogyny against Harris. That whole bro culture seems to personally despise her, for clear reasons. Saying she should just be replaced with Usha Vance, who rarely appears or speaks because her pig husband's base freaked out when they saw her, says it all.

@JaneAusten After the shift to the right in 2022 due to social issues and all the defections and stunts from some over Gaza, thanks for the reminder of the divided opinion.

    • Damn what if she miscarried bc he gave her an STD? He really is a POS
    • I actually get murdered in a lot of dreams and it always wakes me up. I actually haven’t had an issue with the reveal of Martin’s secret personally as my main focus has been on Eva and Leslie and they have continued to deliver. I’ve also enjoyed watching BC get more comfortable in the role of Martin and I can actually buy his relationship with Smitty now.
    • We've agreed plenty before! Probably.
    • I knew we’d agree one day @Vee

    • Exactly.  I think Eden is a competent actress.  She is just not suited to be the heroine lead she is.  She lacks charisma and comes off unlikeable and smug.  In a lot of ways she reminds me of Julie Marie Berman's Lulu until they reworked the character a bit.
    • I find when they let Joss be mini Carly, she truly shines as the daughter I would imagine Laura Wright’s version of Carly would have. Not so much Sarah or TB’s but she’s perfect to me as LW’s mini-me.
    • I wouldn't want to see Felicia or Quinn or killed off. Felicia kept some of us going during some of the bad patches. P&G were not going to invest in Quinn or a family for her especially not with MDP as headwriter. AW had all the potential and P&G allowed it go by the wayside even before MDP got there. P&G and NBC never cared. Look at the indifferent way the Lawrences were written. P&G and execs knew Quinn had fans. They just didn't care and had pretend amnesia. It's reminiscent of the whole Maureen debacle on GL. There should have been outcry at the idea of Donna being killed off. It was an idiotic idea. The same way with Frankie. JFP should never have been allowed to waste so much money on that ridiculous hospital set and the new opening she lifted from ER. I did like the closing theme so there's that.
    • Hahaha are you doing a '93 rewatch?? Wow - so Reva was married to the father and his two sons. I guess I can't be surprised with GL and the citizens of SF. I'm currently watching Dinah and Blake, who are both each other's stepmothers AND stepdaughters... you have Alan-Michael who date Dinah, married Blake, and then married both sisters Harley and Lucy... I could go on and go.  Someone, maybe you, told me very early on that GL is very incestuous and I 100% see it now haha.
    • The Cosby Show recorded in the same studio in Brooklyn. AW had had more black characters for a few years after Quinn first appeared. Not all of them lasted a long time, but we had the Morgans (Bob, Henrietta, RJ, Mary Sue), Quinn's brother Ed, Abel Marsh and his twin Leo Mars, Roy Bingham, Lily, and finally Carter and Grant Todd.
