I’m starting a thread for news on mounting media layoffs as well as criticism of the media and journalism. Stuff that doesn’t necessarily or directly touch on politics.

Dire warnings after BuzzFeed laid off 15 percent of their workforce:

this was the first time i’d heard of daniel mccarthy and modern age. have to say, i kinda love this observation:

McCarthy Harris’s lectern was too short, accentuating how much smaller she is.

not sure if there was any scarcasem to detect:)

This should probably be put in here too. Absolutely incredible.

The only thing that MTG and I will ever agree upon is the wish that Laura Loomer had remained banned from Twitter as she is from TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and even Lyft and Doordash due to her disgusting rhetoric.  In fact, the only other platform that she has been able to monetize is Rumble, which most of us have opposed when it is linked on this forum.

She has hired mobs to trespass at the homes Sen. Pelosi and Gov. Newsom.  She has denied the shootings in Parkland and Las Vegas. And even accused Casey DeSantis of faking breast cancer for votes.  All in all a disgusting human.

The Atlantic once again takes a bold contrarian stance, only to get ratioed and fall on its face mid-article while the author begins equivocating on Twitter admitting his own headline is wrong and responding to Trump bots created in July.

Jonathan Martin's bad mood over the election continues to spiral as he grumbles about Trump's latest blunder and sounds exactly like an exasperated 'stick to policy' Republican pundit, then takes shots at the Harris team's well-received Swift lyric joke:

I won't post the clip, but Rich Lowry, who has been clogging the drains of National Review, Politico, etc. for many years, seemingly used the n-word (before at the very end changing it to "migrants") on Megyn Kelly's hatecast today. Megyn was of course grinning, as much as the very limited nutrients left in her body allow her to move her facial muscles.

He claims this was a "mispronunciation."

I would say the right going full hood off will cause a reckoning for them with voters, but I don't know if I believe that anymore, if I ever did.

Amy Walter/Cook have been going into overdrive lately about how Harris still isn't beating the polling spread enough, that Trump did not blame Democrats when he was "shot" but now he is so numbers will favor him, etc. I do agree that polling is probably too rosy for Harris but still the propaganda is not subtle.
