Moonlighting viewers were not enticed to hang around for Jack & Mike. Same for Harry and The Tortelli's -not retaining enough of the lead in.

Rags to Riches made an initial splash, but failed the following season Fri @8.

Popcorn Kid, Harry, Roomies, Spies, Outlaws etc So many failures.

The following week's ratings. Dallas returns after being preempted.

Week of April 5, 1987. Family Ties, The Golden Girls, Night Court were repeats.

Here's what happened on the rest of that season's scripted shows to finish in the Top 10 plus the four soaps:

The Cosby Show - Andalusian Flu (April 2): Theo offers to run the house when Cliff and Clair have the flu.

Moonlighting - I Am Curious...Maddie (March 31): Sam's marriage proposal forces Maddie to choose between the willing suitor and David. This episode was the series high.

Cheers - Cheers: The Motion Picture (April 2): After Woody's uncle gets mugged during a visit to Boston, Woody's parents insist that their son return to Indiana to escape the decadence of Boston. The gang decides to produce a home movie to refute their claims.

Growing Pains - Born Free (March 31): None of his father's lectures on the value of an education seem to affect Mike until he talks to a distraught expectant father; meanwhile, Jason delivers the baby -30,000 feet up.

Murder, She Wrote - The Cemetery Vote (April 5): Jessica investigates when an old friend is killed in a car accident in Idaho. The man's widow believes it was an accident, but the victim's father is sure it was murder.

Who's the Boss - Reconcilable Differences (March 31): Mona is displeased with the ultra-efficient British office clerk whom Angela hires.

Dallas - War and Peace (April 3): J.R., Bobby, and Cliff enter into litigation for custody of the 10-percent of Ewing Oil. Donna goes into labor at a political fundraiser.

Knots Landing - Our Secret (April 2): Olivia reveals her crush on Peter. Paige tells Mack her mother staged her attempted suicide.

Falcon Crest - Body and Soul (April 3): Angela manipulates the district attorney to ensure Tony will be charged with murder. Melissa continues her double life.

Dynasty - Valez (April 1): Steven must make a decision regarding Sammy Jo. Krystle uncovers evidence that makes her realize Sarah must leave the mansion immediately. Meanwhile Alexis invests in Maurier's latest business venture.

1986/87 did not really have any breakout hits. ALF and L.A. Law would take off the following season.
