Love in The Afternoon by Ed Zimmerman. He wrote this when he was playing Joe Werner on Guiding Light in the early 70's.

Tragically he died in 1972 aged 39.

It's a fun read -  obviously a lightly fictionalized account of TGL at that time. I'll post more about it in the GL thread.

Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis. I love being in this f*cked up world Ellis has created. Victor is such a duplicitous little sh*tstain, but so entertaining and grossly charming. And, of course, the memories of the 90's that come with all the mentions of the celebrities of the time, some I had forgotten, is a treat

I've never heard of that book. I will have to look for it.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Six years ago, Alicia Berenson, a well-known painter, murdered her husband and hasn’t spoken a word since. He was found bound to a chair with gunshot wounds to his face, and she was convicted soon thereafter.

Theo Faber is a psychotherapist who hopes to treat Alicia and uncover the mystery behind her motives for killing her husband. As they sit in silence, the main clue he has is a painting she completed. She titled it Alcestis, named after a heroine in Greek mythology who sacrifices her life to save her husband.

I'm reading 4 books at a time.

  1. re-reading Aggie's memoir. Picked it up again the other day & am almost through it for a second time. Not as bothered by errors this go-round.
  2. Both of Me by Mary Stuart
  3. No End to Her by Martha Nochimson: Soap Opera and the Female Subject (SB's Julia & Mason on the cover & illustrations)
  4. Whistling Girl by Ann Marcus
  5. The Monkey on my Back by Debbi Morgan
