At 49, I don't understand why a woman who has suffered 6 miscarriages would do this.  

 

Much luck to her, but it makes little sense to me.  After 40, the risks of pregnancy are much higher and she has to know this after all the heartache she's had carrying a child.  

 

But again, much luck!

Good God, she's 49? First of all, that makes me feel old. Secondly, sigh... I guess if Janet Jackson can do it at 50, anything's possible.

At 49 she can't be using her own eggs, so it seems that risk is at least not in play. At six miscarriages a surrogate seems wise.

I didn't read the whole thing.  If its a surrogate, than that's wonderful!

No, I meant it would have perhaps been wise to use one. Not that she did. It's her business, so I'm just saying generally there comes a point where that would be smart, imo.
