This is kind of a throwback to the beginning of smarttv. In the January 2014 Jean and Shellys YR started until February 2015. Some of the best things that happened is we saw vets in story, history being honored, the delia memorial.remenbrance, phyllis return, the paternity reveal and michaels cancer. Interesting YR won best writing and best show this year. How would u grade their YR stint? What were the highs and lows

Casting good looking guys that can't act (FV) and read their lines straight from the cue cards, keeping them shirtless and in their skivvies...  A+

Following the rich history they could mine and producing quality scripts.... F-

Utilizing core characters like Lucas that have been on and off screen since birth.  F

Jean and Shelly didn't write Y&R themselves. They still had Griffith's stories to finish, the higher ups were dictating story and JFP's influence

I thought they were fine. They featured a broad number of cast members, finally gave the minority characters something to do and their stories weren't damaging to the show, but they were boring. Basically, it was fine for an interim period, but nothing special. By modern Y&R standards it was amazing though and especially in comparison that is the mess they've made of GH.
