Reigning in "religious" bigots

It's time this woman was relieved of her job, or heavily fined, or even jailed for her repeated contempt of curt,

As someone with multiple divorces and marriages under her belt, she is hardly qualified to appoint herself Spokesperson for God regarding the marriage issue, and her refusal to fulfill the duties of her government job, while still enjoying her full salary and assorted perks, is simply unacceptable.

Why not all three?

I really can't stand people like her. Who the hell does she think she is, forcing her beliefs on other people like that?! If she won't do the job she's paid to do on the basis of her religious beliefs then she should be dismissed immediately!

Kim Davis has every right to believe whatever she wants to believe, and to live her personal life accordingly. However, as a government official who is obliged to serve the public, she does not have the right or the luxury of superimposing the arbitrary dictates of her own chosen religious lifestyle onto everyone else in the county.

I'd love to see her try withholding marriage licenses from interracial couples, atheist couples, or couples who are not both virgins, and claim that "God" commands her to discriminate against them, too. She'd be laughed out of her job, a lot faster than this mess is taking for her to be dismissed.

She has been summoned to appear before a judge on Thursday, to explain why she should not be fined or jailed in contempt of court. That should be interesting.

The funny thing is in the bible God says nothing about homosexuals but divorce is a sin. So she really has no room to judge anyone

It's been my experience that those who try to use the Bible as a weapon against other people have no idea what's actually IN scripture. They just make stuff up as they go along, in order to justify their own bigotry.

Justice has been served.

Kim Davis is now in jail, indefinitely, until she agrees to stop breaking the law.

Her supporters are hysterical with rage, but really, the court had no other choice but to make it clear she did not have the right to discriminate at will.

Or until her cellmate tries to make her her bitch.  Whichever comes first.
