I hated how Will seemingly got aged when he was recast as he was supposed to be a teenage father. If recast, I hope they go younger with someone closer to his early 20s. I really hated how they blended the ages of Will's age group with those in their late 20s (Melanie, Abby, Sonny, Nick). I think a part of his character worked as being younger and inexperienced but with GW, they already had him out of college as an adult with a career and married

Porn star tats  you Carl

I'd take Marshall.

Oh. I'd take him as Will too.

LOL. I sound like Soapsuds ;)

Deshler is too young looking for the role.

Ew. The previous Michaels are not aging well at all. Sorry but they're fug. Yes, that's me being untypically shallow but IDC.

Will was born in 1995 (hello, Philip!). He'd be 20. It's not all that far off. I don't mind kids being aged 5 years.

They need to be cautious with the aging here. I don't find the age-up they did with Will TOO jarring -- they were playing CM's Will as about 19-20, and I think GW is reading as like 22-23 now. I think Melanie, Abigail, and Sonny are all only supposed to be about 25 (though Nick definitely got de-aged a bit at some point, because he was early 20s in 2006). The new Chad really blurs the lines, because he reads more late 20s than Will and Gabi's age -- though actually, he was a year ahead of them in school, AND I remember there being some bit about him actually being a year older than he was led to believe because of his mother hiding his paternity. Anyway, it can all be fudged and it's not too bad to me. But they need to be careful with the casting for Will, because so much of his narrative is that he was a young father AND that his parents had him young. They really can't cast Will any older without Lucas (and Sami) looking absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, Will's age isn't too far off where he should be. Neither is Abby's. They aged her with Ashley Benson and then made her around the right age again when they cast Mansi and brought Abby back.

I still have issues with Philip, Belle and Brady's aging. But at the time I get why they did it instead of bringing on others (like Alexander, Andrew, Jeannie, etc.). I still think Nicholas Alamain (or Alexander) should have been in Philip's spot, considering Nicky and Shawn-D were ... friendly-ish between 1990-1993. Andrew/Alexander could have been in Brady's spot. Philip and Brady should be Abby and Will's contemporaries. Not a 40 year old Brady. Belle, I'm torn on, but she too should be their contemporary, not a 40 year old mother of a 10-12 year old.

The aging for Abby under Benson was insane. She was 14-15 in 2004, and then she and Chelsea both got jumped to 18 by the following year, even though Benson was like 15 in real life. The reset with Mansi sort of made it that she'd been in college for 7-8 years, but I think it was wise not to bring her back as a 28-year-old.

Looking back, the SORASing of Nicholas in 1999 was absolutely nuts. I guess they assumed they'd never have Carly back on the show, and they wanted the connection for Vivian, but it really fouled things up. I was genuinely shocked when they recast Nicholas for Carly's exit. I think they could cast a mid-late 20s Nicholas now and just play very vague references to him and Kate having had a flirtation "several years ago." But you're right about the Brady/Belle/Philip group. That was all way too fast. The part that bothers me most is that having Belle wind up so close to Sami's age makes it REALLY weird to reference how Sami tried to sell her on the black market. Was Sami six?!

Exactly!

Philip's aging was probably the worst. Born in 1995 and 16 by 1999. When that SAME YEAR, they brought back Nicholas, who was Shawn's contemporary at the time in 1993. So stupid. Again, looking back, I get why they made the decisions they did but it's really screwed up some timelines.

They could have just offed Lawrence and Carly in some boating accident and have a 16 year old Nicholas move in with Vivian and fill the Philip role at the time. Too bad Chappell went to GL in 1999 instead of back to DAYS with a teenage Nicholas. I mean, the timing all would have made sense. Oh well.

Instead of recasting Chad they should have brought on Alexander this year. Chad's a waste of a character, IMO. So is Ben for that matter. Both could be roles with actual history as being born on the show.

Philip's aging didn't bother me THAT much because Philip as a child kind of existed in a void. Victor, Kate, and Vivian were all older, so him being a teen didn't make them look ridiculous, and his birth wasn't really tied to anything timeline-wise (I know he and Will were technically babies at the same time, but that was so in the background). But it was weird to leapfrog him so far past Abigail and Will...

Andrew Donovan would be a useful addition as a love interest for Abigail right now.
