AMC/OLTL Spoilers 7/29 & 8/5

Sal is so bad I honestly rank her with one of the worst young actresses I've ever seen on soaps. Just how heavy the material is, day-in-day-out, it amazes me she can't squeeze any tears out. She is just dreadful and nobody can convince me she wasn't picked solely because of her America's Next Top Model connection and looks. She was terrible on that show too, despite her win.

It's so sad to me that they went so clearly for looks for both young black actresses for AMC and OLTL. There is so much talent out there and ABC has always done good with casting strong black actresses. Tanisha Lynn, Tika Sumpter, DEBBI MORGAN, Renee Goldsberry and so many others.

Sal Stowers is so great and listening to the interview with Darnell and Debbi on Michael Fairman's show, both of them sing praises on her performances. There is a lot of Emmy buzz on her being nominated next year for Supporting or Younger Actress. She does so great for coming into a lot of very heavy material. With her storyline arc beginning to change now, I think we will see different layers of Cassandra. She seems to be getting closer to Jesse and going farther away from her mother Angie. When she made that stinger remark to Angie "Is that what you say to your shrink", maybe Cass will side more with Jesse and not so much her mother Angie.

To each his own, but compared just to Yaya De Costa, Tanisha Lynn, young Debbi Morgan or Shannon Kane, she is not up to par. I'd say in terms of black females on AMC she is more on Denise Vasi's level.

I think Sal is doing just fine. Shannon Kane is definitely better, but Sal is NOWHERE near Vasi level of acting. Right now we have not seen as much range because the material ( from an emotional perspective) has been fairly one note.

Didn't GS say that character mentioned recently would show up soon on AMC. The only name drops I recall are Bianca, Kendall, and Gabby. I will do a dance if they actually cast Gabby. Or give Zach and Miranda a home set, he'll if they do both I will reenact the single ladies video.

Liza's been name dropped a lot now with Colby back.

It's really glaring how Gabby isn't there, IMO. IDK. I think they need to cast her, honestly, if Bianca/Eden can't/won't be around full-time, then Miranda's interaction with Zach prove this girl NEEDS people around her that's not just AJ. Or at least have Opal guide her, or Brooke show more of an interest? IDK. I I have been fine with no Erica, and Kendall, at first, but the more the show goes on, the more needed I feel they sort of are. Or at least have Eden be around full-time whenever they have their taping blocks.

I agree that Shannon Kane is much better. Very talented too. Denise Vasi is currently shooting Season 3 of the primetime show Single Ladies in Atlanta. She joined for Season 2 and it got renewed for Season 3. Denise stays busy during the hiatus with her active modeling career and other things too. They love her on Single Ladies and she is doing great work. I don't know what Shannon Kane is up to these days since Hollywood Heights was cancelled after just 1 season. There is always talk about her going over to Y&R since Jill and Josh were showrunners on Hollywood Heights and could eventually hire her over at Y&R.

I agree. Having Miranda but not Gabby is just wrong. Both children should be with their mother. Does Bianca have a love interest? since Marissa turned lesbian and was killed, what was happening to Bianca during the 5 year gap?

Miranda would need more family, especially if Eden goes to recurring and won't be available as a full time contract actress. (new baby). Yes, Kendall and Erica would need to be there to fill in the gap with Bianca not being around. Kane representation.

I agree. She was pretty much thrown to the wolves. That said, at first I was not sure about her acting but her being exposed to this material will make her an even better actress once she gets out of this storyline. Also, once she is out of this heavy drama and maybe a year from now her ability to show this kinda of emotion will enhance. My photography and writing tends to improve greatly after extended breaks so I am sure that applies to other forms of art as well.

Ya Ya could not act. All she did was screech

Yaya DeCosta playing Cassandra was in a timely manner, age appropriate for the role and the script. She left because she landed a prime Broadway role in a great play.

Sal Stowers has not been given oppportunity for widening her acting range due to the storyline she was brought in to. So we will see what happens as the story goes along (therapy/recovery/starting over/etc. That would be the challenge of the writer who is assigned to write for Cassandra.
