Celebrities Whom You Sometimes Confuse with Other Celebrities

Are there any celebrities that you sometimes confuse with other celebrities? (Either because of similar sounding names or because they look alike.) There are two pairs of celebrities whose similar sounding names have sometimes tripped me up:

*Finola Hughes and Fiona Hutchinson

*Robert Reed and Ralph Reed (This paring couldn't be more bizarre, since Robert Reed was the gay father on The Brady Bunch, while Ralph Reed is a conservative Christian political activist.)

Jody Watley and Karyn White really do look a lot alike. If we want to extend this thread to include celebrities with similar voices, I must admit that I first thought "Looking for a New Love" was sung by Madonna.

For some reason, an inordinately large amount of people sound like Elvis Presley. Although they only had one or two hits, Ral Donner and Terry Stafford sound almost identical to Elvis. In his very early years (before he switched from rock and roll to country), Conway Twitty also sounded pretty similar. Though the voices of Ricky Nelson, Carl Perkins, and even Roy Orbison can be easily identified, I don't think that they sound radically different from Presley.

I get Susan Sarandon and Lesley Ann Warren mixed up some times. Judith Light and Joan Van Ark looked similar before Joan went wonky with all the plastic surgery. Lori Petty and Tracy Nelson look alike.

You actually just gave me an idea for another thread, believe it or not ;)

That sounds like a great idea, Virginia!

While I never got them confused, I always thought that Brian Frons (back when he had his beard) looked so much like former NJ Governor Jon Corzine:

There's a little known actor named Harry Lennix (whom I only knew because he briefly played Victoria Rowell's love interest on Diagnosis Murder) who looks almost exactly like Barack Obama:

Amazingly, Lennix's voice and mannerisms are exactly like Obama's. And he is from Chicago. (I have read on the internet that he supported Hillary in 2008, however.)

I think the voice and mannerisms of Dennis Quaid are a lot like those of Rick Perry. Aside from hair color, they also look like twins.

Finally, I think that there is a resemblance between Mitt Romney and John Wesley Shipp (who is a liberal). Shipp looked a lot more like Romney during his Dawson's Creek days than he does today, though.

I've heard some state that he'd be a better choice to play the President in a movie than Will Smith (who the President chose).

*Finola Hughes and Fiona Hutchinson

Fiona Hutchinson with Kassie DePaiva

Three of my favorites. I approve. smile.png

Not to nitpick, though, but it's actually spelled Hutchison. No extra n. smile.png

Both of them are basically one hit wonders, had their hits the same year, their names rhyme, AND they both got big, fabulous fro's.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Noooooooo. Clean Up Woman was her only pop hit, but Betty hit the top 40 on the R&B chart with 18 songs, including CUW, Tonight is the Night, Where is the Love, After the Pain, Pure Love, Slip and Do It, Let Me Be Your Lovermaker, etc. Way more than a one-hit wonder.

Meanwhile, speaking of music, I pretty much confuse all current male country singers who sing about the exact same thing.

Thanks!! I didn't realize she had all that chart action on the R&B charts. She's a hell of a performer, and certainly deserve all the success she gets. To this day, she hasn't lost an ounce of her pipes as she's gotten older. This is one of those times where oldies radio makes a person out to be a one hit wonder when they aren't. Freda Payne suffers from that as well, oldies radio only plays "Band Of Gold", and her other two top 20 hits, "Deeper and Deeper", and "Bring The Boys Home" just don't get any play today.
