Not sure if anyone here cares but "Woman's World," the first single off of Cher's upcoming 26th album, has been out for over a month now (and I had no idea). Not officially released yet. Doesn't really compare to her classic stuff but I love it and I'm glad she's coming back after 11-12 years!

Why did  that sound like Madonna’s Hung Up?

You do know that Madonna sampled "Gimme Gimme Gimme" on "Hung Up", right?

Is that a music video or a screen saver set to music?

I wish Cher would release an all-new album of pop standards someday.  Just her royal Cherness and an orchestra, or maybe a small jazz combo, singing a bunch of tried-and-true songs about love lost, love found, and love denied.  Call me crazy, but I think she would kill it.

I know her last interesting concept was the It's a Man's World cd where she put a feminine POV to male written/sung songs (walking in memphis was epic).

With that said, I like her take on Fernando.. it fits her voice well.. but I don't think all of Abba's songs will fit her voice.

Thank God the track was pre-recorded, because that was one of the most lifeless, on-air performances I've ever seen from Cher.

I haven't seen Ellen's Cher episode yet, I will soon. I may skip the performance of SOS, though, cos there are some ABBA songs on her new album I've never heard, so they'll be like new to me when the album comes out! :)

And I'm so glad she's going on tour again. I MUST try to see her this time....

Meanwhile, another great interview, as per usual:

Cher: "I was [shaking] with Katharine Hepburn."

Harry Smith: "Well, she was shaking, too."

That's because she had Parkinson's, you douchenozzle.  If I had been Cher, I'd have kicked him in the nuts (presuming, of course, he had any), declared the interview over, and then walked away.

Flashback to Cher and Peter Bogdanovich's feud from the filming of Mask. Loved how she gave no [!@#$%^&*] and wasn't about pleasing a director she had a terrible experience with.
