HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I wasn't talking about AMC. I was talking about OLTL. Which, I do plan on watching.

LOL Sigh, I obviously wasn't even thinking. But hey, now you don't have to watch either! (I'm just teasing btw, I think my joke came off more snarky than even I intended)

Can we cut out the racist crap. She is black. Who the hell cares if her skin is fairer & maybe Destiny lost weight after Drew was born.. Also her being a model doesnt mean Laura cant be a good actress. How about giving her a chance before making up your mind. What a novel concept.

That skinny white bitch is not Destiny. Next.

That's fine. I knew you were joking. I said I didn't wanna watch AMC because I'm too afraid it'll be canned. OLTL seems to be getting better writers and more of it's vet cast back. I don't want AMC to bomb. But, until I know that it's not. I don't wanna get invested.

But many many more end up going the other way. Tragically for us.

Actually, with a good casting director (no clue about this one) I'd say it's a fairly decent 50/50 ratio. Obviously the bad ones really stand out, so we remember them, but even going back (when, granted they did have a better ratio of hiring talent over perfect looks), the issue still existed.

Off the top of my head both Genie Francis and Michael E Knight were pro teen models pre their soap work. (Knight--not sure about Francis--had done theatre school, etc too but that wasn't where he was hired from). Maybe this miss hair model has done theatre training too--a lot of them had (I think Josh Duhamel had actually). It's not too uncommon

I can't at Susan Haskell being a model. She's a great actress but not a great beauty.

LOL, well, I can't really see it either, but she apparently was one (a successful one no less).

What was she modeling? Homes?

But, it's pretty fucked up that they hire a hair model to play Destiny. Who is about the size of a stick, and light, bright, and damned near white. And, looks nothing like Shenell.

Oh, stop right [!@#$%^&*] there.

This really grinds my gears and it has for a long time. Ever since either Branco or Jamey Giddens said "hair model" in some podcast one time, everybody goes around saying it in relation to any actor under 30 like a dumb little clique of zombies. "Hair model! OMG we're so witty let's just keep saying it about every hire! Hair model LOL!" It is tired and it often has no basis in fact. It's a vapid buzzword. Why don't we wait and see if this person can act before leaning on that crap. Thank you.

Well. Knight's a great actor period. I think he's just a natural. Did you know that he was originally going to be hired to play Jack Tripper's brother on Three's Company. But, AMC got back to him first. That's how he ended up as Tad. :)

I can see it, depending on what kind of model she was and the market.

She's going to have to be Meryl Streep for me to accept her in the role, considering she is 100% physically wrong for it.

Agreed. Besides which her portfolio clearly shows she wasn't a hair model. :P

Oh, no. I love me some SJP.

Welcome to the early 90s!

Unfortunately I'm all too familiar.

But what was that mug selling? Power suits, maybe?
