From Joe Weisberg (Falling Skies) and Graham Yost (Justified), the ambitious series follows two ’80s-era KGB spies, Elizabeth (Russell) and Phillip (Matthew Rhys) living undercover as a married American couple in Washington, D.C. The pair, whose bond will grow more passionate and genuine each day, will be tested by both the escalation of the Cold War and the presence of a neighbor (Noah Emmerich), who happens to be an FBI agent.

I'm so over these shows set in the past and not getting things like the styling right. I've seen 80s soaps, both high rated and expensive ones and cheaper ones. I've seen sitcoms featuring working class characters. I've seen procedurals and primetime soaps. I've seen 80s movies and pictures and listened to the music. The way Keri Russell looks in that clip is not 80s. I want to see these women with mullets and big hair and shoulderpads, etc. lol.

Silly I know, but I'll admit the show does look good. It's just annoying when these period shows (including Mad Men) will take a generic, sanitized image to use instead of what things were really like. Hair is NEVER right in these modern period pieces.

Lois Smith (ex-Aunt Betsy, OLTL, and an amazing veteran of all things stage and screen, including Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson) should honestly have an Emmy nom for her single appearance in last week's episode.

Renewed for Season 4.

I didn't know this, but apparently the showrunners had a 5-season plan for the story and they're now largely there; I would be shocked if FX didn't renew it again, as they have always been behind it for critical prestige vs. numbers, the former being very important to them. Still, I think it could go a few more than five if they so chose.

      Someone has been posted episodes from 1994 and Jill Powell (Marcy Lafferty) has a hot storyline right now. Just googled her and in real-life she is now openly out as a Lesbian with a transgender son.

      Did anyone else notice that DAYS has not been in the Top 10 most streamed shows on Peacock this week??? I find that very strange considering how good the show has been, especially this week.

      Cast changes in 2025 (so far, not much has happened): GZSZ Pauline Afaja (Flo Kästner) departed on March 10th, 2025. She had only been on the show for about a year. Flo as a character never really clicked with the audience. Her final storyline involved her catching feelings for the much older Nina Reichelt Klee Ahrens Navarro out of the blue – while she was in a relationship with the wheelchair-bound Jonas Seefeld. Onno Buß joined the cast as Julian Kaltenbach on January 31st, 2025. Julian is Matilda's twin brother ... and another illegitimate child of Jo Gerner. Charlott Reschke, who had played Johanna Flemming on a recurring basis from 2015 to 2024, returned at the end of May. The 20-year old actress has now been placed on contract. Last week on GZSZ:

      Not to ramble too far off topic but it happens a lot with comics too, especially only wanting to keep cheap talent around and pushing out creative voices. There are some patches where creatives can go to start their own worlds...wish that was true with soaps, but who knows, maybe it can happen someday. I never thought we'd get a new soap this year.
