Sisters Mel and Kim Appleby had a short but successful career in the late 1980s as Mel & Kim, before Mel tragically died of pneumonia in 1990, her immune system weakened by chemotherapy. She was battling cancer at the time.

Twin brothers Mark and Luke Goss formed the British group Bros together with Craig Logan. They had 6 top 5 singles in Britain 1987-1989, including this which reached #1
