Y&R: Yet ANOTHER former sitcom star joins

I think it's wrong because it just reminds people of how fake everything is. They aren't seeing characters get married, or buried, or on trial - they're seeing an actor from a long ago show popping up. That's all you will focus on in the scene. If they cast this actor in a role that lasted longer and let people see their talent, then it might work, but it's just a cheap shot for no real purpose. The only "name" they cast in a larger role in recent years was Daisy Duke, and that was apparently out of pity.

Pretty much.

If the actors were playing actual characters (Eric Roberts, Sean Young) it would be one thing but hiring a bunch of ex-sitcom stars in bit parts on top of the long line of actors from canceled soaps Y&R has already cast is just desperate.

To be fair, most of the actors Y&R has cast from other soaps have worked. Marcy Rylan worked. Stephen Nichols worked. Debbi Morgan worked. Melissa Claire Egan worked. Darnell Williams worked. Jennifer Landon worked. Jeff Branson worked. John Driscoll worked. Billy Miller worked (not a fan myself but he is very popular). And it's not like Y&R never hires unknowns anymore (Julia Pace Mitchell, Jessica Heap, Blake Hood, Peter Porte). And for every ex-primetime star they cast in bit parts there are 50 unknowns playing bit parts. It isn't that bad.

I forgot about Sean Young. I actually liked Meggie, though I know most didn't.

I loved Meggie. I wish she'd cross over to B&B.

BUBBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a huge Mama's Family fan.

Now back to the threads original topic. I'm so sick of all the stunt casting. Who next Joyce Dewitt? I'm sure she could knock on Victor's door and he'd be waiting for her. LOL.
