So Sonny is Cuban pretending to be Greek and now he owns an Italian restaurant where he probably pretends he's Italian. Nothing messed-up about any of that.

I doubt we were supposed to take it as Todd being wrong. RC/FV probably genuinely think Sonny is Greek.

I want to write a fanfic where we find out that Sonny is very mentally unstable and imagined his entire child. When Sonny was a boy, he had a very close friend named Robert that lived in an abusive household One day, Robert was murdered by his abusive step father, and Sonny witnessed the whole thing. This caused Sonny to have a complete mental break, and he began to think that Robert's life was in fact his life. Deke, in all actuality, never existed and Mike was NOT a dead beat father. Kate and Olivia were figments of Sonny's imagination and never truly existed, and the "Kate" and "Olivia" that are in Port Charles are actually impostors sent by Joe Scully Jr. Joe Jr. learned of Sonny's mental break and sent the impostors to mess with Sonny's mind as revenge for Sonny murdering his father. "Olivia" and "Kate" were sent to Port Charles to destroy Sonny, but ultimately fell for his charm and abandoned the mission. Eventually, Joe Scully Jr. shows up to Port Charles and exposes the whole thing. Sonny has another mental breakdown and is sent (permanently) to Ferncliff.

Okay, then after Joe Scully Jr. exposes Sonny's fragile mental state, Sonny goes into denial. But when Joe Jr. provides proof, Sonny completely breaks...and kills himself. It would be a fitting end, considering all the murders he's committed.

Well Corinthos is a greek name but Mike never really talked about being Greek and I believe if he was Greek he was at least half Irish. But it really doesn't matter what Mike is cuz that deadbeat was never around. The only parent's culture Sonny knows is Adela's and many of time he's talked about how connected she was to her heritage, how she spoke Spanish to him all the time, taught him to cook all her foods, etc. His mother was an immigrant who escaped Communist Cuba with her family.

I'm thinking it's the night of Sonny's birthday. He calls Carly, Kristina, Michael and Morgan to his house. He tells them how much he loves them and says he's sorry for what he put them through. Then he goes upstairs, while they are still in the living room. They hear a gun go off. Carly runs upstairs and finds Sonny dead in his bathroom.

Carly decides there will be no funeral, as nobody really knew Sonny.
