Local TV/Radio Station Jingles, IDs, Promos, Openings etc.

Because I have delightfully nerdy hobbies (and one of my lifelong dreams is to work at a TV/radio station):

There's this great YouTube channel, TheRobz, which has all these different radio jingles and IDs that I love. I particularly love all the 1986-1987 ones, both for the great music they introduce and the wide range of US cities/metro areas they cover.

There are eleven ones for the 1986-1987 jingles/IDs in all. Here are the first four:

Huntington, Charleston, Roanoke, Richmond, Norfolk, Washington D.C.:

Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls, Great Falls, Bozeman, Billings, Rapid City, Casper, Cheyenne, Denver, Colorado Springs and Albuquerque and some other distant locations:

Tallahassee, Tampa, Miami, Jacksonville, Savannah, Atlanta, Charleston, Columbia and Charlotte:

Terre Haute, Indianapolis, Lansing, Detroit, Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati:

I'll post the other seven as the board allows me to.

There are also eight of these from 1989 that I really want to listen to, since I was born that year.

More to come!

I might be able to find a clip of the local sportcaster online who I used to be afraid of.

His name is Alan Cutler. And, when I was a child. He was so scary looking to me. That I used to hide in a closet when I saw him on the screen.

MissLlanviewPA, this is off-topic, but I absolutely love your avatar and signature photo! Long live Alex Olanov!

I hope to share some local news openings at a later time.

Oh no! That's awful! laugh.png

Speaking of which, here's a clip of the best known Indy news anchors back when I was still in town: Mike Ahern & Debby Knox. I still have an old tape with this promo.

And when I still had stations from Baltimore:

Aw, thank you! :) She was great, wasn't she? I actually haven't seen very much from her glory days! I've got to catch up!

This is one of my favorites: A CBS affiliate montage from 1995. Funny to see how many are missing, and how many have since changed networks:

These are some 1989 promos from WLKY-32 in Louisville, KY when Meteorologist Wayne Hart joined the station. A few years later he would move to WEHT-25 in Evansville, IN, where he remains today as that station's chief meteorologist.
