Your Local Stations' Daily Televison Schedules

  • Member

I thought it would be interesting to list the weekday television schedules for your local ABC, CBS, and NBC stations. More than anything else, I am curious if any of the affiliates or O&Os air daytime programming in the "wrong" time slots (or if they have done so in the past). Please begin with each network's morning show, and end right before prime-time starts.

I get the New York City stations, all of which are O&Os.

As you can see, no network daytime programs currently air at an incorrect time. However, during the 2007-08 season, WNBC actually showed DOOL at 2:00P.M. Much more unforgiveable, however, was that WCBS long aired GL at 10:00A.M.; I believe that station started doing so way back in September 1993. (Given how many CBS stations aired GL in the morning, I am surprised that soap's ratings weren't far worse than they were.)

I appreciate the correction. Was WCBS the first station to air GL in the morning? I know a whole huge load of additional stations begain airing GL in the morning following the debut of Dr. Phil (which seems to air mostly on CBS stations) in September 2002. Not surprisingly, that soap experienced a big ratings fall over the next twelve months.

GL at that time was great. It didnt compete with any other soap and it was a perfect time slot

WCBS and the O&O CBS stations moved GL from the afternoon to air a short lived program called Day & Date in 1995, which was a live news/current events program. I'd have to check 90s soap opera publications to see exactly which areas had this issue.

I remember Day & Date. When I came home from school, I watched that show to get the latest news about O.J.

This is fascinating. Does the same thing air every Monday (and every Tuesday, etc.)? Or, is there absolutely no logical pattern to what airs? (For instance, do they use that time to air infomercials?)

You posted mine Scotty. (Lexington's stations)

Yep....Comcast carries both of them here too just west of I-65. WKYT officially on the line-up, and WLEX can be picked up through the TV tuner. No WTVQ though...

So, you've never seen Tom Kenny. AKA, the real life Woody doll?

I've gotta find a clip of that dude to post.

I take it he's on Channel 36?

The other cable company here in town carries channels 27 and 36...but not 18. Crazy....lol.

  • Member

Yep. He's 36's 5PM news anchor. He's married to Nancy Cox from WLEX 18.

I just posted a picture of him in the other thread.

Ah....

I don't suppose you get any Louisville stations in your part of the state?

  • Member

When analog TV was still around I could pick up WAVE3 and WLKY32 with my antenna. But, since the DTV switchover. Nope.

I liked WLKY much better than WKYT. WKYT sucks and has always sucked.

I could do the same thing with WTVW out of Evansville before the DTV switchover and after it was taken off cable here some years back. The county I'm is in an interesting spot...over the years we have had channels from Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Evansville, and Nashville on cable and with an antenna here over the years at one time or another.

We are at WAVE watchers at my house. WLKY is okay...so is WKYT. I like them mostly because they are the main Kentucky Wildcats station....and I'm glad they are on cable here since I get so tired of hearing about the Cardinals on all the Louisville channels, lol.
