Your memories are pure MAGIC! Whenever I think of COADF... I can vividly recall being in my childhood bedroom, glued to the television as I watched the Hung Up video. At just 10 years old, it felt like I was witnessing something otherworldly... Especially as a child growing up in a deeply homophobic country... I would listen to it... in secret... not wanting my father to find out. Oh my God... when the COADF tour video came out... THAT EPIC OPENING WHERE SHE SMILED AT THE AUDIENCE. I still get chills. The greatest tour video EVER.

As a kid/teen growing up in the homophobic South in the 90s I feel that.

You also remind me of how I felt when I saw the video for DEEPER AND DEEPER for the first time and how it resonated when up until I saw it my favorite video of hers was LIKE A PRAYER growing up. But when COADF came out, I had just moved here to Cali to live with my sister and one of the DJs at the lesbian bar would play FORBIDDEN LOVE at closing time...giving the fun night one just had there this air of fantasy and magic. And how I felt when Madonna dropped the video for SORRY. It was the one off that album that I wanted to have a video. And just awww...just like when I heard Cher's BELIEVE album and wanted STRONG ENOUGH to get a video and it appeared at 2 am a few weeks later...just dazzled.

Madonna did such a great job with that. I remember one critic saying that it was like she had one leg in the past with her other leg in the future with her aesthetic and that always stuck with me. The HUNG UP video was giving so much 80s fun but modernized at the same time.  And the vibe throughout the album was such a futuristic journey with stops along the way to different time moments...all fun, all danceable, all love.

That's when she was truthful to herself. Sadly I think the eras after her divorce with Guy... were very... madonna-reductive.gif She tried to chase the wave of trends... instead of creating them like she did in the past. So many of her collaborations were stupid and meaningless. It was grotesque to watch. I hope now that she's "reconnected" to the light... and is in full-on philosopher mode... she'll deliver the truthful and real Madonna we all love. I was beginning to get scared of what her career was becoming when she was dancing out of breath with Maluma on stage, looking like she escaped some mental institution... or sucking on Tokisha's entire face and body. LOL.

She had her fun... I want something of quality now... And I believe she can deliver. It's time. ❤️
