There's been some strange instances of plastic surgery on daytime over the years.

--One of the strangest I've seen is when Days brought back Jay-Kenneth Johnson to play as Phillip to replace Kyle Brandt they had Phillip burned in an explosion explained Phillip's new look with plastic surgery, never mind Johnson had previously played the role before Brandt.

--Ignoring previous plastic surgery work ie Lily on ATWT, Steven on Dynasty(well primetime) etc., obviously when the show rehires the original actor.

--Characters trying to be dopplegangers even though physically impossible ie Pheila Y&R,

You can add OLTL's Max and AMC's Janet to the list of characters who had plastic surgery to explain their new look, then the original actor reassuming the role.
