M.e.r.l.i.n Final Episode by HomeInNetherlands

A great finale. The episode had everything a Merlin fan could ask for, and was sad in a few places. I think every aspect got a nice little payoff, from Arthur and Merlin, Morgana and Mordred, Gwen, Gaius and Merlin, the regular knights Leon, Gwain and I forget if the big guy is Percival or not, just everybody was given their moment.

This is not a regular link but maybe for christmas the other people are on a break. This one has occasional ads. If I get a better link for you I will post it. I came back because I watched it again. The Bromance of Merlin and Arthur was in my opinion the best Bromance since Kirk and Spock. These two really sold it all these years and they did an excellent job of it and are good actors, especially Colin Morgan. And the guy that played Mordred I think has a bright future ahead of him because he doesn't even have to talk to command scenes.

Regarding what you just said wing, stupid or not that is the legend and I think the show did the right thing sticking to it. The one character the show deviated with the most throughout the series was Lancelot, and Gwen paid a price for that considering Lancelot was her primary story. Had they gone a different route then that would have been a disservice to Mordred. Also, the way they did go added a touching (I thought) element to the very last frame of the show with Merlin waiting and waiting.

Sorry you guys didn't like this, I get it was rushed and they could have spent more time on Mordred and Morgana, but they made sure to really showcase the central relationship of the show and the episode-long journey Arthur was on realizing what and who Merlin was and how he felt about it was beautiful I thought, and Merlin just spending the entire episode loving Arthur was equally so. Arthur was not able to understand why Merlin would be doing the things he was doing if he was so powerful and it took the whole episode for it to sink in for Arthur, who finally got it.

About Gwen, well it is a fairy tale pretty much, and the show didn't have to stick to real world political realities.

wingwalker, I completely agree with you about Morgana/Merllin.

Also, in all the Arthurian legends even the original one, Arther is a great king who rules over a peaceful and prosperous Albion/Camelot for many years before his death. Something which never happened in this series. The finale should have been the beginning of Arthur's great reign instead of this trite ending.

In any case, I am glad the series is over. I thought the final season was mostly dross so they ended it before it got even worse.

    • Martin and Smitty were designed to avoid the stereotype of gay men sleeping around (which to an extent is true). If you recall Martin had a line about them not being open when Chelsea came to talk to him. The producers are walking a very fine line right now and it might not be popular to say but I can understand it. Establishing enough footing to ward off complaints will let them showcase gay characters more openly later.
    • The week was decent. They have started to rotate their stories and finally got a rhythm going. I disagree about them allowing every character to have a moment to shine though. Nicole really hasn't been given anything to do. I completely agree with all this. I adore Doug and hope he makes it through.

    • There was the one appearance in '96, but otherwise, that's correct as far as I know.
    •   It's working fine now.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
    • I'm hoping that the new studio might have more space, meaning extra sets could be permanently erected. Perhaps the current  set issues are due to limited space available at Television City as it shuts down for the redevelopment. But if more space means spending more $$$ we might be stuck with the current situation no matter where they move.
