Classic AMC/OLTL

The scenes after Simone's death were pretty sad to watch, especially the lengthy scenes over whether or not she'd committed suicide. I kept waiting for some flashbacks with Kendall and Simone, since, if you take Fusion seriously (as AMC certainly did in its last decade), it was the end of an era.

I think the recast Derek is a decent actor...I just can't see anyone but William Christian in the role.

I don't understand why they got rid of Dani. The girl who plays her is a decent actress who, more importantly, has a great deal of presence. She is also one of the few who actually makes me believe the whole "sisterhood of Fusion" routine. Her scenes with Josh were a highlight of the Simone death episodes, along with the last scene where all the women came back to Fusion.

I agree about Erin's breakdown. The scene where she talked about how things were supposed to be getting better but instead nothing ever gets better, were chilling. They are a meta comment on AMC as a whole.

I enjoyed the fun scenes at Wildwind, although I have to push out what happened to most of the characters.

The baby stuff with Krystal, Tad, etc. is beneath all the characters and drags the show down.

What an underwhelming performance by Cameron Mathison. All he did was stare and whisper when Erin died. The writers didn't even try with him, they gave all the meaty material to Jeff Branson. LOL. Maybe it was for the best. And gosh, Alicia is doing amazing with her reactions to these Fusion deaths! She's fantastic! MCE and Eden R gave some fab performances as well.

I love the Zarf stuff so much, especially when he has scenes w/Bianca. I forgot how much I enjoyed this crazy story.

And I forgot all about Simone leaving Miranda Ethan's inheritance...that was a very nice, clever touch!

Josh and Amanda could've been great. I liked their scenes at the gym.

The Erica/Jeff stuff is just awful. Painful to watch.

Lol at Kendall showing a picture of Greenlee to Annie and Annie saying they looked alike. They really did! I'm not liking Kendall hiding this paternity secret from Ryan and Annie.

Colin Egglesfield's performance when he found Erin and when he had to call up various people was very good - you could see so much going on underneath the placid surface. He's very underrated.

I couldn't watch some of that when Jonathan saw Erin. I'd seen it once and it's just so close to the bone. The early stages of this story have been better than I'd expected, very chilling.

Jacob Young gives one of his best performances in this whole story about JR's constant pain and JR's love/hate of Babe. The scene where she was broken down after she learned of Erin's death and he wanted to comfort her, but couldn't bring himself to do it - wonderful. And the scenes with Dixie and Adam where they convinced him to let Babe stay. You can see there another example of the seeds of the toxic relationship between Dixie and JR.

Zarf annoys me, it's just too forced, but I do enjoy some of his scenes with Bianca. I still wonder if they were planning some relationship between the characters. I hope not.

The scene where Tad said goodbye to Simone was extremely moving. Talk about the epitome of the toxic genius of McTavish's writing.

When was the flashback of Tad/Simone from (they were in bed with whipped cream)? I wish they'd had one with Kendall and Simone.

Pretty much agreed with your post. I forgot to mention those Tad scenes. Yeah those were very well done. MEK did a great job. And I remember that Tad/Simone scene, it had to of happened some time in 2003 I think...and agreed about Kendall/Simone flashbacks, though Kendall talking about her satisfied me a lot.

It's so sad that they even needed to kill SImone off at all, but what bothers me is how little they showed her before she died. All the talk of Ethan and so on when she barely mentioned any of that.

I like the super awkward relationship between Annie and Kendall. I think "sane" Annie is, in many ways, more interesting than psycho Annie. I guess I'm alone in that.

LMFAO at Kendall snatching Colby out of Josh's room and calling her a "nasty little skank" laugh.png I LOVE her!!

Fusion wub.png Loved all the girls standing strong and continuing to work! I loved the press conference at the end of that episode. AM/Kendall did so great.

Tonya Pinkins wub.png I miss 'Liv! LOL at the scene where Livia was freaking out over meeting Zarf. Loved that.

Ok Cameron Mathison actually stepped it up. I didn't remember those scenes he had with Annie. I wish Ryan would've broke down even more, but it was really, really good anyway. Erin and Simone's memorials were handled flawlessly, I loved how they branched out more than a week. I liked how that last episode started with their actual funerals, it would've been unnecessary if that went on for a whole episode so im glad they went more of a montage route. It was really nice. And even after that we still got Simone/Erin mentions ;-).

It's so weird seeing Kendall act so obsessed with Ryan. In the last two years of AMC, Kendall & Ryan were solidified more as close friends. Thank god (IMO) for that, though I can't deny thinking it's sort of uneven with their history together. Kendall really used to obsess over him LOL.

JR and Babe in the Chandler living room playing w/Little A's Christmas toys was CUTE. JY & AH had endless chemistry. I love them.

Adam and Krystal wub.png

Jamie and Julia are soo boring. So are Aidan and Di. I saw more spark with Di & Zach in that little interaction they had at Fusion earlier in the week. LOL.

Is it just me or is Thorsten Kaye doing really terribly with this Satin Slayer S/L material? Talk about awful. I'm finding him painful to watch....the Zach/Zarf scenes were ok. I'm loving Zarf/Bianca again and what this is all leading up to.

Episodes from late December 2006 right now, same for GH & AMC.

I haven't been keeping up with the Soapnet episodes, as I have too much on my DVR already.

I was watching a few mid-2006 AMC episodes.

Is it me, or is whoever wrote this episode kind of taking the opportunity to have a great big laugh at the stupidity of Jonathan's characterization?

Is it wrong to think Ryan and Dixie had good chemistry?

Why did this episode constantly flash various bands on TV screens in close up? Was this some kickback?

Why is Dixie dressed like a long lost Carey?

The last Josh/Babe scene in the episode is really badly done.

I think she looks sexy but it's so tough for me to imagine Dixie dressing that way. I was more used to the black, mournful stuff she wore in the last months of this run.

It's interesting to me how they spent six months teasing Jack/Brooke while never actually going there. Kind of a waste.

No kidding. :( Then again, looking back at some of the Jack/Brooke scenes from 1991, I thought they cut off that relationship too soon. It would have been far more interesting to have a more developed Erica/Jack/Brooke triangle once Erica dumped Charlie. I don't know why they did that with Brooke in 2006 and then suddenly switched to Barbara as the Jack/Erica foil... but God I loved Barbara Montgomery, and I was thrilled to have her back in all of her bitchy goodness.
