SFK, promise not to freak out, but for my birthday last year, we had fried squirrel, mashed potatoes and gravy, and lambsquarter greens (then finished it off with lemon cake and homemade ice cream). Squirrel is something us ozark bumpkins eat all the time! LOL When I worked in a garden center in the city years ago, I took leftover fried squirrel for my lunch one day, you'd thought I set off a bomb in that place! People couldn't believe it.

Squirrel melts is crazy. I pass squirrels all the time where I live, as there are a ton of them and I would never even think of them as food.

That cat looks possessed, lol.

alpha, my uncle hunts and he's gotten squirrel but I've never been over when he had it. Is it good?? Well, duh, I guess you'll say yes, lol. I have had rabbit which I liked, and plenty of venison. How would you describe squirrel flavor? I don't think I'm against squirrel so much as I was creeped out by our lovely host. :P "I promised him a squirrel sandwich and THAT is what he's gonna get eeeafter skew-uhl. You've heard of tuna melts or patty melts, why not *squirrel* melts? ... Put his little tender butt in there... You know how squirrels love nuts." blink.png

I admit, I did have a kee-cackle at the "tender butt" line... smile.png To be honest with you, it's not a whole lot different than rabbit, sometimes it's a little tougher, actually. I'm not a lover of deer meat, it has a funny taste that bothers me, just like lamb does. My people eat coons and possums as well, but I don't care for those, either.

Oh, I know exactly that taste you're talking about with lamb. To me, veal has it too. I don't care for either. I don't really get that taste from deer. However. I learned that you must cut off ALL the fat on a deer steak. It is not flavorful like the fat on a beef steak, it is downright rancid, like greasy, rotting fish. I guess that's the "gamey" taste. I think I would try raccoon and opossum if it were prepared for me by an expert. Possums are some of the most peculiar/ugly/frightening(yet harmless)-looking animals I have ever come face-to-face with and I don't know if I'd be able to shake the image of that face. And raccoons seem too close to cats and dogs, but if I've already had my Bambi and Thumper I guess I could get over that.

Omg SFK...just omg. This one makes me want to cry! Just the way she landed. I really wonder what happened after and if she was ok. I'm going to be thinking about this for days now lol that was just tragic. I can't stop rewinding.

Only funny part to me is that her wig fell off. LMAO.

LOL! I know it's the lowest form of humor, but people falling down just sends me into "I can't breathe" laughter. And I mean, seriously, was she expecting to land on her feet like Dominique Dawes?? In slow-mo, the camera woman saying, "Uhhhhhh ohhhhhh, uuuuuu ooooookkkkkk???" LMAO!

Some more (and a special appearance by our friend):

This shouldn't be funny, but it is, because some people have no qualms at all about doing commercials about personal problems. "These strangers, they quickly became my friends". ROFL.

LOL! I always get a kick out of ths commercial, it's one of the many terribly depressing commercials for the poor, the old, and the sick that they are constantly playing on Antenna TV. Like Cancer Treatment Centers of America, shape shoes, and the Cymbalta mesh. :P

Well... speaking of commecials and such for personal problems, here is something I just saw last night. I'll admit, i'm darned tempted to call Martha on the phone and ask her "Your'e talking about constipation? What are you DOING!" But she seems so genuinely jazzed here, I wouldn't have the heart. But whenever her and Maxine Powell are together, there are some old lady diva quotes that will always have you rolling on the floor. But y'all can be honest with me, now... my queen is having a Dionne Warwick "Psychic friends" moment, isn't she? The good stuff starts about 6:00

    • It feels like the show hired Hank Northrop first and are still deciding what to do with him lol. I don't have a judgement on the character yet, but this non-story (so far) has been happening for at least a month and he's only made 2 appearances lol.
    • I know Anita mentioned that she no longer was investing in the trust, while Leslie had stated that the interest was multiplying at a decent rate... but I do have a feeling she'll wipe through the trust in a short amount of time with the amount of spending she's doing. The show always throws in tiny nuggets of foreshadowing and having Anita's remark and Eva warning her mother not to overdo the spending tells me that Leslie will be blowing through that money eventually.
    • I honestly don't care if Laura is friends with Sonny.  She's been friends with him for decades.  The way she goes about the friendship is stupid.   She has no sense of self-preservation or awareness about the optics of parading her friendship with Sonny around town.  She practically celebrates it.  There's no reason in the world she can't just keep the friendship low key and explain they share a grandchild and frame the relationship that way.  A lot of Laura's choices, like getting into a public fight with Dalton, just make her look silly and like a fairly incompetent mayor. Carly is another PC lady that's starting to look silly.  I know she's explained her plan a lot, but it's still stupid and moving at a glacial pace.  If Joss is 45 by the time her revenge plot unfolds, what's the point?  Just dump Brennen and move on please.
    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.
