May 22, 201114 yr Member Honestly, not to besmear the kid or anything but when I saw the original story on a news program, I saw the kid and was thinking "She's in beauty pageants?" She looked like an average-looking kid to me, not so much "beauty pageant" material. But maybe it's because I've got the prancing Jonbenet image in my mind of the kids in those things so what do I know? But something just seemed off to me about the story...that and the claim that basically the industry was doing it all along and there was nary a peep or a stink about it before. Don't feel bad. I thought the same thing. The kids DO look like JonBenet...and now, I hear from a friend in LA that Harvey Levin of TMZ fame basically destroyed this woman's argument that the story is fake and the pictures are doctored. She needs to lose custody, period. PS: The $10,000 ABC News paid was for the pictures which they bought from the UK tabloid The Sun. ABC News could not have known where the money would go, either The Sun received the money or the woman did or a combination of the two if there is a profit sharing deal in place.
May 22, 201114 yr Member The once "legitimate" news programs have become both more gullible and more "tabloidy", imo. They totally fell for that dad who said his kid floated away in the hot air balloon, a family who had been on "Wife Swap", no less. For a while they were starting their broadcasts with Charlie Sheen's antics. Really, the most important news of the day is Charlie Sheen???? Even this latest "the world will end on May 21" business...why did it get so much publicity like there's never been any imminent doomsday claims before? The stations are all in a such a greedy rush to outdo, outtalk, outrate and outearn one another that their quality of simple and straightforward newscasting has taken a dive. Sometimes I look around and don't wonder why the world thinks we (the US) are dumb and arrogant.

So basically, Harvey is saying that this woman DID inject the girl with botox? It wouldn't surprise me if she decided to say it was all a hoax after her custody is in jeopardy.

Why not cover the people who have donated their money and their lives to this man? Anyway, this woman does not deserve to have a child, IMO, and I don't care what her story is.
