My favorites last night

Elliot-Was the only one who stepped it up a notch

Taylor-I liked both numbers, although the first was a little over the top

Chris-Not his best night. I don't think he's that good when he's not singing rock

Katherine-Again, not her best night. She always sounds out of breath.

I think either Katherine or Chris will be going home. I think a lot of people like myself love

Taylor so much is because of his personality, which unlike Chris and Katherine's, always shines through.

That's it. I'm threw with AI. Done. Complete. This is such bull [!@#$%^&*] and the show just LETS it happen! Katherine should have went home. This is just another stupid popularity contest and not about who can sing. That's it. AI sucks and I am not watching AT ALL anymore.

And Chris didn't even have a bad nite. He's had worst. Much worst.

The curse of 4th place strikes again! How many times has this happened? I'm blanking on the other seasons, but I'm really remembering Tamyra Gray right now. I know the wrong person has gone home in 4th place on more than one (now two) occasions.

That said, I'm glad Chris didn't win. I think he'll do A LOT better without the Idol title. Look at Kelly Clarkson. Her Idol CD sucked. Her solo kicked ass!

THIS IS BULLS**T!!!!! :angry::angry::angry:

I didn't even care if he won but him leaving before Taylor is a joke. Kat at least can sing. All Taylor does is do frickin jigs and acts like a drunk at a barn dance and he gets votes. GIVE ME A BREAK!! I used to like Taylor but at this point in the competition I need vocals. If I want what Taylor gives me I will walk down to my bar, get my friends drunk, and pay them to dance on a table and sing karoke. I let it go in regards to Taylor before but I am not anymore. KAT AND ELLIOT KICK HIS ASS!!!:angry::angry:

This is AI 3 all over again. Watch AI get low finale numbers now just like they did when Fantasia won. This sucks-he may not have won but he should be in the top 3 no question.

Oh and why the hell did AI let Taylor sing? I thought he was in the bottom 3 when he did but he wasn't. Chris didn't even get a send off. Why is Idol pimping him-his vocals stink? My apologies to those who like him but if you watch the show back like I do he is almost always off key. That is not an American Idol and this is a singing competition. If he wins this thing, I am through!!!

Wow, I'm shocked, maybe AI isn't rigged after all because I thought the producers wanted a rocker this season.

I just don't see Elliot or Taylor being successful at all because they both look old.

I guess Katherine is the most marketable now because she's got a decent singing voice and she's cute and young.

I thought it was horrible that Taylor got to "steal the spotlight" tonight. That Rebecca Romijn thing was SO staged.

Taylor's not a sure bet to win this thing, folks. Elliot is still in the running, IMO. Remember Justin was a huge favorite in S1. Clay Aiken was a HUGE favorite in S2. Bo Bice was also a HUGE favorite in S4, so...

Of course I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kat makes it to the finals. Guaranteeing whichever guy is there with her the win.

Elliot hopefully will win this thing. If Taylor wins, fine.

But god, quit bitching about Chris like he was the best thing since sliced bread. He WOULD NOT BENEFIT FROM WINNING. He had bands offering him jobs during the show! He will be FINE.

I firmly believe Elliot, Katharine and Taylor would benefit the most from winning. Chris has a huge and bright future, if he chooses to pursue it.

But was Ryan cruel tonight or what towards Chris. Rubbing it in that America thought he could actually be the winner only to quickly say "you're out." Ouch.

I know that Krypton and you are right but for me its about the integrity of the show. If Kat or Elliot wins fine but Taylor is not good vocally and this is a SINGING competition. This has happened far too much starting with Tamyra Grey then Latoya London and now this. It ruins the credibility. I am not saying it was fixed I am just saying people are voting on looks and popularity instead of vocals and talent. I would have even been fine with Kat leaving just as long as Taylor did next week. Its just wrong and goes against what the show is about.

It reminds of what happened with DWTS2. Stacy and Lisa were better then Jerry and they both got screwed because Jerry was more popular. That is why I think AI should give most of the percent of voting to the fans and some percentage to the judges so that things like this don't happen. Its not about the person needing it-its about who is better vocally and deserves to move on and it was down to Taylor and Kat last night. Both were bad but Taylor was worse vocally. If Chris had a bad night fine but he was fine last night. He has done worse. If this happens again next week and Taylor goes through and then wins-I am through completely.

LOL, Chris was the best singer out of them 4, IMO. Elliott is great and VERY talented but where is his range? Versatility? Taylor is the best out of what is left. IMO, it is not about if Chris would benefit from winning, but it is about what the show is supposed to do, pick a strong sample of good singers and then let the star win. There is obviously some flaw in AI's voting system but there were many stronger vocals than Katherine and right now she is the weakest link. It should be someone like Mandisa there or something. The show should produce diversified singers. If every season a Katherine McPhee aka Kelly Clarkson aka Carrie Underwood wins then why call it American Idol?

Because that is who America chose. I don't think there's a flaw in the voting at all. Maybe some people think a contestant is safe and do not vote for him/her because of that, but it's not a flaw.

Chris's fans got too complacent, IMO.

He was very good vocally, I won't deny that. At a point I wanted him to win, but he rarely showed flexibilty. On the nights he did, I LOVED him, but his act got old.

And I want Elliot or Katharine to win. I'd be okay with Taylor winning, but he's the weakest of the three.

And don't even get me started on Mandisa. Girl was ROBBED. Another case of bad songs doing a great contestant in.

I agree TOTALLY that this is often times a popularity contest. But I think Elliot making it so far PROVES this, deep down, IS a singing contest. I REALLY want him to win this thing now.

I still also stand by the fact that the person who will benefit the most from winning deserves it, but don't get me wrong, they should be able to REALLY SING. I just think Chris will do fine on his own and didn't need the win to actually have a career. His fans, again, IMO, got too complacent. Kat fans knew she was vulnerable, same for Elliot, so they voted their asses off.

Oh and I'm STILL pissed that Jerry ended up in the Final 2 on DWTS. UGH UGH UGH. Lisa and Stacy were ROBBED.

So then it is all just a popularity contest? Why claim that it is about singing? Katherine isn't the best singer there now and many who have been voted out were better. She's not bad, but I don't think anyone will deny that she is not the best and shouldn't be in the top 3, not Simon, not Randy and whomever... IMO... That's where the problem is. Votes are not made based on singing they are just made on popularity and once the show continues that way it is almost pointless for it be on the air IMO.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
    • Wasn't there a break in Zaslow's first run? I thought Roger was off-screen for a while, and when Zas came back, Roger was hiding at the boarding house and Nola figured out there was something hinkey about him. I'm pretty sure Simon chose to leave the first time and was replaced by RVV. I don't want to assume Jordan's issues played a role in his first departure, but Maeve said in an interview that at some point, it became very hard for her to work with him and she asked to work with him less. That seems to fit 1986, where suddenly Vanessa is essentially Ross' law clerk and not at every Lewis family moment.
    • He needs to divorce her arse with her constant cheating.   She's no better than Doug... she's F*cking pathetic.
    • I didn't know of any interruptions for Maeve Kinkead after her 1997 return. Her runs would then be 1981-1987, 1989-1996, 1997-2000, short arcs until the end. I knew Maureen Garrett second run was interrupted from a 2009 interview but I couldn't recall the exact year. Her runs would then be 1976-1980, 1988-2000, short arcs until the end.
    • As I said in May, I have no problem with Martin and Bradley being married. You can still do all the fun introloper storylines with them as you do everyone else. Both men of a certain age, and it is very believable for them to have either a first love or have been previously married. And, you can do it without either of them cheating!

I said something similar during the premiere week. Bill was the perfect age to play Martin as Vernon and Anita's child. I would've much preferred this version, but oh well.
    • I don't know how you want to count Maeve. She "retired" in '00, but would come back for appearances. I don't know however if she made an appearance in '01 or '03. In '02 I believe she came back for Josh and Reva's wedding. I assume she came back when Gina Tognoni took over the role of Dinah. And I know she was back for Ross' memorial service. Maureen Garrett was around until at least '00. I don't think Holly was in town when Ben returned though. I just got pissed off about Jerry all over again.
    • So, pretty sure Zaslow, Garrett, Kinkead, and Newman all chose to leave the first time. (If that's wrong, please correct me). Bernau - not sure why he left the first time. Was it voluntary? Or did they decide to write him out? They were writing so many out during that time period. It always seemed odd to me that they introduced Alex, FINALLY giving him someone he could talk to, and then he was written out. Or maybe that's why they made Alex his sister, so she could take his place as the head of the Spaulding family? Would love more intel on that if anyone knows. Simon - was he replaced by RVV? Or did he voluntarily leave the first time? It seems to me like one of those times TPTB decided to sex up or glamorize a character (and it clearly flopped). If he was fired, interesting he came back. Again, would love if someone could spill the tea. Clarke - I've always assumed he left because of his personal issues, but not sure if that was the case the first time.
    • So Doug just leaves Vanessa there with Joey? He's a f*cking loser. Vanessa needs to divorce his arse
    • Tina Sloan tied Jerry VerDorn record when Guiding Light was cancelled - 26 years uninterrupted
