Interesting that there was an edit at the start when the guitar was supposed to break, so we didn't see it. I assume something went wrong since in those days video editing was expensive and was rarely done, instead they just opted to film the entire show "live" onto the tape. I guess something went wrong on the set when it was supposed to break.

It looks like tape decay in several spots and the film jumps.

Les Brown Jr. (Buzz) is the son of big band leader Les Brown who's lead singer was Doris Day back in the 40's. Les Jr. appeared as one of the Mosquitos in the classic episode of Gilligan's Island " Don't Bug The Mosquitos"

Interesting info. Brown was cute here - I guess he didn't really go on to much career-wise. Brenda Benet was so appealing in the ingenue role, she's the highlight for me.

I need to go back and watch the other two episodes on Youtube but the quality is so bad (I think the original versions by Saynotoursoap were ruined by someone else and then this third uploader tried to fix those versions) I haven't gotten around to it.

I watched a bit on my iPhone. The scenes in the restaurant featured palm trees in the background and that got me thinking. Wasn’t The Young Marrieds set in a suburb of the then unnamed town on General Hospital? So at this point GH couldn’t have been set in New York but rather a locale with palm trees like Florida or California. Makes me wonder when TPTB at GH decided GH was set in New York.

Yes, those other 2 episodes are crappy quality almost unwatchable. What I have looked up, Les Jr. followed in his fathers footsteps and became a musician. I found this photo of him and Marlo Thomas pre-nose job. A lot of people speculate that it was what gave her that nasally voice " Oh Donald"

Wow. It's hard to even recognize her.

I think I have the original uploads of those two episodes somewhere on a disc. I know saynotoursoap didn't really like his material being uploaded by others, which I understand, but what is available of those two episodes is so terrible...

I wonder if the master tapes of this soap exist ? I think GH saved all their episodes and since this is the sister soap, maybe those episodes are in the vault.

Yes Marlo had her father's nose. The first time I saw her original nose in a 1950's photo with her Dad I didn't recognize her. When I see her today on TV, she doesn't even resemble the way she looked on That Girl in the 60's. I know it's been decades, but she looks totally different.

Some guy commented on youtube a few years ago about her recent work on her face. He said she was on a talk show and he couldn't understand what she was saying. He said the doctor must have cut a nerve and her mouth was hanging open. It's was a cheap shot....but I had to laugh.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
