What happened w/ Bobby Martin for us that tuned out around that time or wasn't present AMC watching?

Bobby went up to the attic to get his skies and he never came down and he was never mentioned since. A couple of decades later, Opal (I believe) went up to the attic and saw a skeleton wearing a ski cap that said Bobby.

He went up to the Martin attic and never came down. He was Joe and Ruth's son and went there looking for skis. The show never acknowledged him again and kinda acted as if he never existed. Years later, the show made a joke out of it when Opal went up to the attic and ws scared by a skeleton. The last reference was in a halloween episode back in the late 90s where Jake told Alie that one of the decoration skeletons was one of his older brothers. Since his disappearance, Bobby Martin has been used as a running joke for any character that dissappears from the show with no exlanation or exit. I rememebr people saying Brooke went up to the attic when Julia Barr left a few years back...lol

I think they mentioned Bobby one other time. I think it was an anniversary show or something and Tad was naming his brothers and mentioned Bobby.
