2011: The Directors and Writers Thread

VERY sad to hear MSP is leaving GH, IMO the best script-writer on the show next to Michele Val Jean. Kate Hall is a great replacement for her but I wish we could've had both on board! ;-(

Sorry to lose one of the few minority writers in daytime, Aida Croal from OLTL, but lately I have not been a fan of her scripts though - thought she wrote some awful dialogue especially during the Shane/Jack bullying S/L.

How do we all feel about Mary Sue's departure from GH's writing staff?

I don't really have an opinion on her. RSinclair will be upset. It's a bit sad when long time writer is let go. Her 12 years with the show is only second to Michele Val Jean's 18 years.

Kate Hall sucks... her Friday AMC script was awful...what are they thinking. Her mom, Courtney, has all the talent. Courtney's scripts during the Todd/Todd reveal were outstanding, especially her concise dialog around the (horribly acted) Destiny plot.

It was awful probably because of the Zach/Dixie material she has to work with. They have whisked in from the ground and made it harder to watch. I really disagree with you that Kate Hall sucks, I think she's the best SW on the show.

No offense, but that's like saying Alec is the cutest Baldwin brother; no one's giving either a run for their money.

HA! I remember that moment! I remember, too, several of the other contestants were looking at her like, "Bitch, please, git up!".

DAYS:

- Dena Higley last listed as Head Writer on August 25 (A single tear of joy rolls down Toups' cheek......."FINALLY!!" he shouts with a fist pump in the air.)

- Marlene McPherson & Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr. first listed as Co-Head Writer on August 26

would someone please post that credit crawl...it's a red letter day in the soap world. Not even the firing of Henry Stern and Stephen Black from ATWT years ago tops this! Yay!! Dena and Mark Christopher can sell real estate!

It's amazing, to me, that Megan McTavish, Robert Guza, Jr., Charles Pratt, Jr. and Dena Higley aren't crapping all over any show on any network now.

True. But we do have Ron Carlivati, Brad and Maria Bell, Hogan Sheffer, and Scott Hamner to kick around still. ;)

I will, too, until they eff up, and Ken Corday has to fire a bunch more people and announce his record-setting 85,000th Plan to Save DAYS.
