Thanks. So are those photos already out then? If not I won't duplicate. I wasn't sure.

Do you know if her IMDB credits are right and she was really in those 1916 silent films? I wasn't sure if she was that old.

I didn't think she was old enough for the silent movies. The only article I've seen with her is one where she's in the country with her real husband. And then I found this on newspapers.com (from 1943).

I remember you posting that one. Thanks again. I think I may have another but I'll have to find it.

I didn't think she was old enough to play grown women in silent movies either, even if at that time teenage girls played older. IMDB is always a mess. Are there any other Florence Williams in IMDB?

The silent movie Florence Williams is the only one I saw on IMDB when I was searching. But I seem to remember there was some scandal involving that actress but can't remember what it was.

Where did you here that she wrote for YDM? That's interesting. What other radio soaps did she write?

In her new archive at Northwestern University. They have all of her non-AMC/OLTL stuff that UPenn didn't want to archive. YDM was an Irna Phillips soap, so it makes sense that when Agnes was freelancing in NYC, she would pen this Phillips show. There were quite a few scripts from YDM in there. It's quite interesting how Agnes was writing for these shows (YDM, MA PERKINS) and she's never mentioned them in the press. When I saw the MA PERKINS script, I nearly fell out of my chair!

I don't know if anyone is intersted in modern attempts at radio drama, but I came across this demo for a show, AFFAIRS OF THE HEART. It has a great tone and the stories show promise. This is the link: http://www.affairsoftheheartsoap.com/demo/

I really wish we had more soaps instead of the four on TV... Hey, even the UK has THE ARCHERS!

Thanks. Really enjoyed reading that. Not sure if that ever became true though, about radio casting on looks. I guess it did to a degree.

Based on the radio actors I'm familiar with I don't think that happened either. However, Irna was still promoting that idea---from July 1938.

Above, actress Gertrude Werner is mentioned.    On television, she played Claire Lowell Cassen Shea on As the World Turns and Mrs. Porter (an early character) on Love Is a Many Splendored Thing.

I learned last week that she was married to actor Carl Frank, who I am sure acted on many radio serials.   On television, he was the original Bill Marceau on The Edge of Night.
