This was a big problem for me too. It took a drunk, lonely night when a date had bailed to get me back in (Now I'm gonna get comments about always posting drunk, I'm sure)

Pretty much. To be PC now is an insult, it's not about considering someone else's feelings, etc. And it's becomes known as being fake--something someone whois racist/sexist/homophobic isn't cuz they're "keeping it real"

It's especially hard to jump back in given the current climate of soaps. You go on a nice holiday and you come back to the same gripes and frustrations and it's like, "Geesh, why do we even bother..." But we do. They just keep us hangin' on. I will say that AMC and OLTL for all their faults have still managed to be entertaining imo.
