Thanks for the articles. I wish they could have done more of those specials, it's great to hear about the extra talents of these artists.

Janice was gone by the time the Lance/Lucas stuff started, right? Was Victoria there for any of the Brad story?

Victoria's only other soap role was as Denise on Santa Barbara.

Who was Denise?

I miss the old variety show days, back before everything became so cynical and sneering and everyone started obsessing over what a jaded 14 year old might want to see.

someone on youtube posted just the the most amazing clip from Carol Burnett.

you have to FF to 5:40 and watch the whole thing. This woman was amazing, and you don't see this stuff on TV anymore.

That was great. She really did look like Bea Arthur. I love the natural chemistry she has with Carol. I miss that type of audience interaction where anything can happen.

Carl, I have the weekly updates Reed put out in clippings. Currently I have a small chunk of 1977. What I can tell you from what I have already is that Lucas entered the picture sometime around November 1977. Laurie was trying to find him and even went to Hong Kong to track him down. Janice left Y&R in very early 1977. Brad had problems with his eyes; at one point he had a tumor and it was feared he would lose his eyesight. Fortunately, the tumor was benign and he regained vision but his marriage with Leslie was by then on the skids. Lance encouraged Brock to pursue her. Leslie and Brock had a brief relationship in late 1977, but Lance did a turnaround and argued with Brock over his feelings for her. Leslie found Brad in her apartment, coming home after a week-long rendezvous with Brock. Victoria was playing Leslie when all of this was going on.

If anyone is still interested in these specials -- this is a few photos from the July 77 SOD, of the special featuring Kathryn Hays, Tudi Wiggins, Meg Bennett, Don Stewart, etc.

Denise was a therapist to Julia after Julia's rape by Dash...if I recall correctly, Denise ended up falling for Dash herself.

Yep. She played Dr. Denise Foxworthy, Julia's shrink. Dash, believing he did not rape Julia, started courting the shrink under an assumed name, so by the time he revealed who he really was, Julia's own doctor doubted her claims.

Mason also blamed her for Eden/Lisa falling over that cliff. (She was also treating Eden for her DID.)

Here is a video of Victoria Mallory as Dr. Denise Foxworthy on SB, when Lisa reveals herself to her family:
