LMAO, I just realized Nene is trying hard to get Mynique a spot but completely passed over Diana, who was thirsty for the spotlight on her spinoff. Can you imagine Diana vs Marlo with Kenya thrown in on RHOA? It would probably take over and Nene can't have that

Was Diana ever on the show before the Nene spin-off? She looks familiar to me.

It just hit me that if talk of the new housewives on OC is true, that three of the franchises have a housewife that competed in Miss USA. Kenya, Joyce, and Elizabeth (Lizzie). I wonder if New Jersey, Miami, and New York might start to do that in future seasons

I don't know what's yet to come on ATL this season, but it seems that whatever beef that Phaedra or Kandi had with NeNe is all forgotten. You can tell in scenes together that they all know the game; they're castmembers and NeNe ain't going anywhere. As the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. They all seem like they've got an understanding with each other on that. Kenya foolishly thinks she can "beat" NeNe.

Mynique is a fail so far. Her argument with Porsha was so out of left field and you could tell she was poking and prodding Phaedra and Kandi looking for a way to worm herself into drama.

I enjoyed NeNe this episode and it was overall entertaining. Savannah is my hometown so it made the episode even better watching them go to places I went as a kid.

Road Trip! These episodes are always the best.

The show left me wondering how many brain cells were wasted on this bitch Porsha, this week. I cant with her. Oh boy, she still has the same stupid ass old fashion values that she's going to take onto the next man. Kenya was right when she said she acts like a little girl so thats how Kordell treated her. She actually thought the Underground Railroad referred to real trains? Like Cynthia said, her grandfather was rolling in his grave. Girl, just shut up. the more she tried to explain herself, the dumber she sounded.

I love Kenya's talking heads. She was throwing shade from jump. LOL at her enjoying the tea being spilled about Phaedra dating Mynique's husband

Kandi has some nerve taking the master bedroom for herself. Really Kandi? She was wrong for that, especially since she was so late. Im glad Bravo showed that flashback of the girls being late to her cardio event though.

Its unfortunate that Nene and Kenya have a falling out bc I really enjoy their relationship onscreen.

If this was Mynique's audition, the verdict is in. She passed! Andy give her a peach. I like her. LMAO at Cynthia showing her the ropes and teaching her how to handle being read. She doesnt know what tea and shade is? Girl, you never watched this show?

    • You're probably right. They may have just wanted edits of certain characters. Hopefully the rest is around.
    • Of course!

I'm wondering if there were bits cut from this footage, because to me it seems that may be the case. At 11:23, Laurie tells her psychiatrist that the bar phoned and told her Mark got into a fight and needs to be picked up. It starts to fade to the next scene, you hear some different music begin and get cut off between the static, and where you'd expect to see the aftermath of the fight, we cut back to a later scene of Laurie in bed worrying about what's happening. The credits at the end also show that more than Mark, Laurie and Dr. Northcote should have been in this episode. Another character, Brody, played by Ed Setrakian, is mentioned but not shown. If this is the case, perhaps the original fan who saved this episode has the additional scenes.
    • Anyway… It’s a shame that the video that depicted Leticia’s death was removed from YT.

    • Ms. Phelps holds a BFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 1972. At a time when women were underrepresented in directing programs, she was one of the few women in her graduating class. To suggest that she possessed no further talents than completely changing the style of music used on soaps seems like a vast underestimate when one reads her online biography through an objective lens. I guess that I should be more clever than to constantly blame misogyny for these misguided interpretations of her management style.  But, I'll never comprehend why fans unquestionably align their opinions even years after fact. Post-modernism, and the ability to reinterpret context through the study of history, seems to elude this conversation.

    • This is 100% correct.  It was even on the nightly news where the US Government would not let the cast and crew travel to Egypt because it was deemed not safe.  The Achille Lauro hijacking took place on October 7, 1985, when the Italian ocean liner MS Achille Lauro was hijacked by four men representing the Palestine Liberation Front off the coast of Egypt, as she was sailing from Alexandria to Ashdod, Israel. The location shoot was probably scheduled to be filmed in mid-October to air throughout November with a two week tape to air date.  Remember on the show they did some in studio scenes doubling for Egypt before shifting the action to Arizona.  It was an awkward end to a truly bizarre storyline.

New episode from late 1973 or early 1974!
    • Coronation Street had a very good story where one of the characters befriended a man who she later learned had been involved in her husband's death - when told right it can be very powerful (not like AMC trying to make it a romance). ATWT almost had a big fire in mid-1994, so this seemed to be a "thing" with P&G at the time. I guess it fits the disaster backstage atmosphere.
    •   @jmgaw did not refer to Luke and Laura. Throughout 78 GH's ratings continued to rise as AW's fell. That turnaround was getting a lot of attention in the soap press with Scotty/Laura, Rick/Leslie/Monica etc . So the 90 min decision was a reaction to that. I guess the thinking was that 60 min expansion had worked so starting AW a half hour before might keep viewers from switching to GH at 3pm. I don't think anybody really thought it would work. The most sensible solution would have been to expand The Doctors and hope for a GH like turnaround, but for reasons unknown TD never went to an hour.
