And you know Mariah isn't that good of an actress to play pretend-drunk! I love how she kept randomly hugging that dude. We need more acceptance speeches like this -- no more of those Nicole-Kidman-pretending-to-cry-but-unable-to-squeeze-out-tears horseshit. "I'd like to thank the Academy for the greatest moment ever known to man" sob-sob.

Sorry I didn't see this and started a thread in the off topic room, I was SURE you guys would be talkin about this. I swear this is the BEST acceptance speech at an awards show since Helen Reddy thanked God for SHE makes everything possible. Mariah has become quite the entertaining little chubby trollop, hasn't she? Who wants to lay odds on a sex tape in the future?

From Zap2It:

Mariah Carey blames her loopy acceptance speech at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards on her "Precious" director Lee Daniels, not eating enough that day and champagne.

"The thing is me and Lee hadn't see each other in a long time, and then he was presenting my award, so he starts off immediately with inside jokes," Carey said at the People's Choice Awards Wednesday, Jan. 6. "We had splashes of champagne, and I love Lee but he's a bad influence."
