There need to be another attorney on this show to represent the other side, and one that can actually win something. Heather is definitely not that character. No only is not convincing, but most of the time they write her incompetence as the main reason why she's losing every case. Where is the balance in that?

Thee needs to be shrewd attorney on this show, preferably a woman (oh wait, this writing team can't write for storyline women, but ideally) that fights nasty in courtroom, but does it within very legal and ethical parameters.

Michael has no competition on this show as an attorney, and it makes his unethical and criminal practices as an attorney even more jarring.

But again, this is just speaking of an ideal situation, MAB and company obviously have little interest in the character they fail massively at character writing.

What about that new DA we saw at Chance's ceremony? I would also prefer a woman, but I don't think we are going to get that either. I agree we do need some true competition for Michael and Heather is not it. Although I was never a huge fan of Christine's I did think CLB and LLB did play well off each other in the court scenes. I am not saying get rid of Vail Bloom since I do like her in scenes with Paul and I didn't mind her as a corporate lawyer at Jabot but she does not belong as a ADA and never has.

I would go with 60% and 40% with than 40% being mainly with Lauren and Fen. LOL. Michael also needs to be in the mix with the top characters and not constantly bailing out the Scoobies. Having Kevin hired to work with Katherine and Neil is a joke. He is not on that level of top management, but Michael is. He needs to be interacting more with the likes of Katherine, Jack, and of course Victor and spend less time cleaning up after the Scoobies. Then he needs to face some family drama with Lauren at the end of the day. Lauren at the same time should be in the business mix also, but I doubt that will happen, but she is a CEO of a chain of department stores and is written as stay at home mom.

Ok, I will give you 65:35 and I am not budging :)...anymore than that and CBS won't have much use for the Michael character on their network and I do think they want his lawyer mode to be back in full effect. And I already do see that he is slowly becoming more involved and in more scenes with the Newmans and Katherine, I expect that to continue. I guess we will see but I am beginning to notice a difference in certain things and it was very evident starting with this week.

It's a deal. I can handle 65:35. I hope you are right in regards to Michael and he isn't shoved back to the backburner when Victor returns and this Tucker storyline heats up. Michael needs to be in the thick of that story also.

I don't think the current predicament will improve, especially with these writers. Criminal activity is treated like such a joke on this show. Michael will continue to carry out his function, and Heather will continue to be portrayed as the stupid one that always botches every case. I think they're set on this pattern.

I wouldn't mind Heather being written out. They have very little interest in her, and if her relationship with Paul hasn't been explored in the three years or so she's been on this show, I don't think it will ever be.

Then again, this crappy writing team keeps on creating more and more new characters and refuses to trim some fat. So a lot end up being ignored for a very long period of time.

a bit old

A bit?

Michael CONSTANTLY breaks the law while acting like a self righteous bitch to everyone else.

The way he acts so morally superior while justifying & enabling his relatives is sickening.

That makes it alright? His job is to craft the best defense for his clients, and that's what he should be concentrating on doing, not some cheap scheme to always get them off. I wouldn't have a problem if he did this very little, but he's always doing something like this. He's no better than the people he's trying to get off most of the time.

But again, this makes his actions alright? Michael is a lawyer, he's getting paid to do things the ethical way. He's not a private investigator or some hitman.

Exactly.

How is Jack and his continual scheming much different.

Jack's schemes rarely work & everyone in town berates him INCLUDING his own family.

Michael fleeces the entire town & gets away with everything while assuming the moral high ground.

It also doesn't help the that person on the other side that's supposed to be more ethical, Heather, is written as such a misguided idiot that always screws herself over and can never win anything.

Pretty much.

Cricket was at least she was allowed to win cases.
