September 15, 200916 yr Member http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28582715/?gt1=43001 I loved him in all his movies and mini series especially in "Dirty Dancing", "Ghost" & "North & South" The first paragraph in our newpaper said it all. Patrick Swayzem the acting hunk who strutted his way into viewers' hearts in Ditry Dancing and the broke them in Ghost has died aged 57 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. September 15, 200916 yr Member When I read it earlier it was such a weird moment. He survived it for so many months I was beginning to think he would actually beat it. Your light will never go out, R.I.P Patrick Swayze It´s my way, or the highway... - Road House
September 15, 200916 yr Member The Swayze was a warrior. And always a class act both on and off the screen. Point Break remains to this day one of my fave films. Sad he's gone -- but glad his suffering is over. Sorry of that sounds heartless - it wasn't meant to be. Just the way he talked about getting through the pain every morning... what an awful battle. I don't think that it sounds heartless, but at the same time it is one of the hardest things to say at a time like this. I can still remember going to both Dirty Dancing & Ghost at the theatre quiet a few times, because of Patrick. I have the 20th Anniversay DVD of Dirty Dancing, but when I looked this am the DVD was missing, hopefully it is in one of the DVD player's as it is a movie that my niece watches a bit when she come over. Just a little off topic are you the same Cat that used to be over at TAT. Edited September 19, 200916 yr by SnCCorinthos4ever

September 16, 200916 yr Member RIP Patrick. I liked his earlier stuff (as well as "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing") - The Outsiders and Red Dawn were pretty good flicks. If you've never seen The Outsiders, I'd highy recommend you catch it sometime. From what I've read about him since his passing, he was a fine man. We've lost another good one, y'all. :-(

September 16, 200916 yr Member RIP Patrick, you will be forever missed and your legacy will live on through your movies. My favorite of his are: DD, Ghost and The Outsiders. I loved his singing voice too "She's like the wind" is a beautiful song. I hate to sound callous or anything, but I'm glad he's not suffering anymore, he fought a brave and valiant fight against this cancer

I was thinking the same thing. As I understand it, pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive, painful cancers that one could have. Hopefully his family is at peace knowing that he's not in pain any longer. That's one of the things that got me through when my Mother Dear passed away a few years ago.
