I must say I find Vail Bloom's storylines a lot more interesting than most on Y&R currently...

Okay, I've just seen the newest picture of Vail from a few days ago and she isn't pregnant, so I guess it was all false info. I hope we get some word later on her status.

I'm confused. She definitely was pregnant at one point right? We saw pictures of her with a baby bump.

With Kevin G. Schmidt's new one-hour action pilot picked up by Cartoon Network, is this the end of Noah?

http://www.thewrap.com/ind-column/cartoon-network-drawn-dramas-9757

Cartoon Network has greenlit its first live-action scripted series, handing out episodic orders to "Unnatural History" and "Tower Prep."

The cable channel had said last spring that it was moving into live-action programming, announcing a slate of reality shows and scripted pilots. The reality shows have already launched; the new scripted series will begin production in January.

“These new series will offer our viewers a type of action-packed event entertainment not found anywhere else,” said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer of Cartoon Network. “We are looking forward to working with all of the great talent involved in these exciting new ventures, which we believe will be a powerful complement to our diverse and expanding array of original programming."

"History" and "Prep" were both on Cartoon's development roster announced last May at its upfront presentation to advertisers. Here's how the network describes both hour-long projects:

"Unnatural History" is an action-packed mystery series centering on Henry Griffin (Kevin G. Schmidt), a teenager with exceptional skills acquired through years of globe-trotting with his anthropologist parents. Shipped off to a high school in Washington D.C., Henry and his smooth-talking cousin Jasper (Jordan Gavaris) find themselves wrapped up in mysteries revolving around the national museum. The pilot was created and written by Mike Werb ("Face/Off," "The Mask"), who will be executive producer of the series. Emmy-winner Mikael Salomon ("Band of Brothers," "The Andromeda Strain") directed the pilot. The series will be produced by Warner Horizon Television.

"Tower Prep" is an action thriller telling the story of a rebellious teen, Ian (Drew Van Acker), who wakes up one morning to find himself trapped at a mysterious prep school focused on tapping into the "unique potential" of its students. Ian forms a secret group with fellow students CJ (Elise Gatien), Gabe (Ryan Pinkston) and Suki (Dyana Liu) as they search for answers to where they are and how to get home. The pilot was executive produced and written by Paul Dini ("Lost," "Batman: Arkham Asylum"), with Terry McDonough ("Breaking Bad") directing. The series will be produced out of Cartoon Network Studios in association with Dolphin Entertainment.

Oh, I'd care so much!

Noah is the only younger-set member who is INSTANTLY engaging. If they threw him the ball, he'd totally be able to run with it.

We have no idea why Schmidt didn't have a contract. Since he was doing a pilot with Valerie Bertinelli shortly after joining Y&R, and then he did this pilot, I have assumed it was (at least partially) an actor's choice. His eyes have clearly firmly been on film and primetime/cable...

It seems to me that Noah's story must be about to heat up (with Daisy in town). Thus, I fear we will have a recast Noah. Since Y&R has a horrendous track record with youth-casting, that makes me worried.

Yep.

Same with Mackenzie & Lane.

Really? I've always thought that they do care about Lane, but who knows anymore. If they are really going for a triangle here, I just wonder how they think Cane is going to look like anything but a complete POS. I know that IRL cancer often causes the break up of a marriage, but in this case Cane just managed to get Lily back after conning her and marrying her.

I don't even know which is worse Lane apart or together, but I do know that a triangle with a pregnant Mac will be unfortunate. It's almost like two steps forward one step backward here. We are getting some business stories, which is a very good turn of events. Jill, Ashley and Emily seem to be strong females again (for now), but then it looks like TPTB are setting up a triangle that is really a slap in the face, imo.

Nah, I think this story will be about Mackenzie and Lily. It will have two pieces:

- the bonding of the women...both need a friend

- Mackenzie realizing she wants a baby, and she wants a good father for that baby in her life

I think we'll see drama as Mackenzie carries the baby. The constant threat of recurrence MIGHT even cause Lily to try to forge a bond between Cane and Mac...for "after she's gone" (like Caroline did with Brooke on B&B).

But, more developmentally (assume they want to use Mac as more than a 'device'), this will set a quest for Mac to find her "post-Billy" man. Hi Chance! Hi JT!

TPTB only care about Lane as a way of "redeeming" Cane.

Mackenzie will get pregnant, the baby will be HERS & Lily will divorce Cane just in time for Billy to fight him for Mackenzie after losing Chloe to Chance.

I just wish this Ashley business story weren't a way to make us see she's crazy. It's like, "Well, she's going to go back to work, like people wanted, but she's crazy, ha ha!"

Are you sure that's how it's gonna go?

AND...if craziness makes her more interesting...is that such a bad thing?

It worked for Phyllis and Leanna Love.

I never saw Phyllis as crazy. I always felt she knew exactly what she was doing. I'm ok with Ashley turning bitchy for awhile, but I'd like her mental issues to be resolved precisely because I like her this way, I don't want this version of her to be invalidated and explained away by mental illness later on. I want a perfectly sane, bitchy Ashley making life difficult for the Newman's and Jack/Billy.

It is kind of great to see the Abbotts coming apart at the seams...each of them at war with the other two. That's often the most interesting soap--when families fracture, and the love makes all the warring painful. Here's hoping that's how it goes....

I am with you on this one. I think the Abbotts are going to be warring in more ways than one (**teehee**).

If it means she's stuck in a holding pattern where every story she has can be written off due to mental illness, then yes. It tells viewers never to bother being invested in her, because every story is about her being around the bend. I also wonder how much of this is because Victor needs to return and "save" her.

Ashley wasn't supposed to be like Phyllis or Leanna Love. Unfortunately that slightly to totally crazy, desperate mode is the default for a lot of the women on the show now.
