Jack cares. That is Jack Abbott's version of sibling rivalry what he did to Ashley. It's like My oldest siblings dynamic with each other (I'm too young so they are more of father mother figures to me) sometimes they speak about each other in such a dismissive way you would have no idea, but when you know them the way I do you understand the love behind it. I can understand Jack just wanted to win and thought nothing of having Ashley give up her seat to him, that's normal by his standards. That only hurt her (in Jack's mind) to a non-damaging extent and it may have even been justifiable for Jack because that's not even her place (to him) to begin with. The sleeping with John's wife is low, but I so can buy many dudes would still do that and call themselves loving their father. The John/jill dynamic in itself presented an opportunity to argue for Jack's antics at the time. Was Jack dead wrong? yes! Was he selfish? Hell yes! But he loved the people he hurt!

That's what made the stories work. He did care. He never wanted to hurt his father, or his sisters, even when he did.

Yep.

He was a whore with a heart.

Adam Vs. Billy.

It writes itself.

DeeDee I have been saying this for as long as I saw the Jabot takeover scenes. I wonder why we are not yet headed in that direction as I would think it would be obvious.

Exactly!! They should be duking it out over business and women (Chloe). And this time it could be more about CI v. NE than Jabot.

I loved Billy when he returned and I always loved Chloe, but the writers became obsessed with Mac ever since she came back so everything fell into the water. I no longer care so much for Billy and I don't really know what to say about Mac. Chloe apologizing to Lily and Cane is something that I just don't understand. Lane fans are getting what they want, and it's sickening. Moving on to J.T. and Victoria, I don't feel as if I have to explain because yesterday I said it all.

& those Lamers still don't like Chloe. They must want her to kiss Lily std ass or Chloe to be her maid for the months that Lame was separate.

The same reason Scotty/Colleen hasn't happened yet.

TPTB are stupid. lol

Just like the Giggle Gang.

I thought Chloe's apology to Cane and Lily was more of a defining moment for her than being about them. The character was in such a rut through most of that story, because so many motivations kept changing, and she was often defined through causing problems for Cane and Lily. Her accepting her role in that mess and moving was a signpost for her to move in a better direction and leave them behind.

An Adam/Billy rivalry would have been great. I think Adam's been sacrificed because there no longer is a strong Newman family dynamic for him to play off of. They can't use Nick or Victoria to clash swords with Victor, because they're both such weak characters. They could have slowly built up Adam as a complex force, but since the show now moves much faster, in more stark terms, they had him go way over the edge because that gives Victor more story at the moment, while not involving Victor's other children.

Do you want more black characters like Lily on Y&R or do you want more urban characters? What kind of stories do you want these characters in? More interracial romances, more supporting stories, more lead stories? Do you want to see Devon and Tyra together in a relationship?

Characters like Tyra and Devon have already been portrayed as more urban, that's just who they are. I don't care who they're paired with, I just want them fully integrated into the cast. There's nothing wrong and out of the ordinary to have (gasp!!!) interracial friendships. I think many viewers would be fine with both not having love interests if they were just a real part of the canvas. Put them with the characters their age and see what happens. And no, they don't all have to be from the hood. Neil and Olivia are perfect examples of another type of black person. Really, it's just a person IMO. Nina, Jill and Amber are all hoodrats and it plays into their story. It's just a way of being. If you can find story for them you can find story for their minority counterparts.

It just seems to me that Tyra and Devon are there simply to say "Look we have black characters!" It's clear the writers have no interest in writing for them, despite bringing a character like Tyra on. Nobody can convince me they truly thought Devon/Tyra or Neil/Tyra were compelling couples or that the stories were interesting. It's clearly scraps being thrown. That is the problem and I want to know why that is.

Liz has gotta be relieved not to be on AMC anymore.

Oh and Patty fans, I have most of the episode on my computer. I'm off to work now, but when I get back I'll upload it onto YouTube. I'll try and have it up tonight, but i'll be late night maybe after midnight.

The characters aren't.

The actors are.

Whatever Thad, when you're let go next, don't act like you didn't see it coming.

I hate JT and this version of Victoria. I think they should both be written out and Victoria should later come back to town as either Gina Tognoni or Heather Tom.

JT has been out of the Mac/Billy orbit for so long that I don't want to see it revisited. I can hardly stand this Mac/Billy revisitation right now, let alone JT being put into that energy sucking storyline.

I know this was discussed this morning, but wanted to comment on TL's SOD interview. I understand why Thad said what he did and I am sure he knows he is likely going to be written out. Just like I am sure Amelia Henle, Tracey Bregman and even Christian Le Blanc must be wondering if and when they will be written out. These writers aren't subtle about who is on the chopping block even if they are leaving the actors dangling. It sucks waiting for the ax to fall especially when you have kids to feed. I have never been a fan of JT, but sympathize with Thad. And what is he supposed to say in this situation? If he is critical, he is out the door. So he is trying to be professional/hopeful and is probably still out the door.
