Also, I wanted to put this out there. What is everyone thinking about the Gloria/Jeffery/Jill stuff? Glo and Jeff are driving me nuts with Mary Jane thinking she is sleeping with Victor and then thinking she is sleeping with Paul. Like come on now. They are such bad spies.

I'm waiting for her to unleash and when she does, she is gonna tear Sharon apart (loved it today when she grabbed her) and she is gonna go after Phyllis for seeing Phyllis with Jack. Now, if she catches onto Gloria, Jeffery and Jill spying on her, Mary Jane is gonna go Patty Jane on everyone!

I'm wondering if this is some kind of payback for JW by TIIC. Making Jill the third stooge in the Glo/Jeff escapades makes no sense, because she(Jill) may be a lot of things but she is definately not the cartoon character that G&J are.

This may be true. I'm not sure if they have an idea of what to do with Jill, at least not until the Phillip drama heats up. There was so much with the fallout of her not being Katherine's daughter that they skipped past. The days of her having a love interest or three-dimensional character have been rare for some time.

Here is my hypothesis. Jill was trivialized as a "stooge" while her contract was up in the air. If need be, they could quickly send her off to the Caymans or whatever, on a "follow the money" trail.

Now that Walton has re-signed, I'm sure she'll be back to her regular station soon.

Sadly, it seems it may not go this way with MTS. Oh well, at least she's available to play B&B's Beth Logan....

Again after today, Phyllis will be the biggest idiot if she ever takes Nick back. I don't care how much "story" is left in that pairing. After she told Nick she's done wasting tears on him, she better stick to her ground. I do not want to see Phick 2.0, they're too ruined, and they suck anyway. Give Phyllis a real man...

I don't see how Phick is anymore ruined (long term) than Sharon and Nick were 4 years ago or Victor and Nikki are right now.

I hope it's a couple of years at least. I'd love nothing more than for this quad to take a back seat for the summer. I know that won't happen thanks to Sharon being pregnant and MJ lurking. But I've had enough of all 4 of them to last a good long while.

They're all ruined to a degree, but since today's episode was Phyllis kicking Nick out, telling him she's done crying over him, and then Nick going directly to screwing Sharon, I hope Phick is done forever.

That whole marriage, Nick was never fully committed to her. Even during the Latham mess, Sharon still had a pull over Nick. If Phyllis likes the emotional abuse and likes coming in second to Sharon repeatedly, then let her be the idiot. That character is ruined forever if she goes back to that loser.

You mean when the Phick divorce finalizes during November sweeps. ;)

And I think Jack is ruined forever if he goes back to Phyllis after she said straight to his face that she loved Nick more. In fact she's even said it again since then. I can agree that all of these people need to stay far away from each other for a good long while. Too bad that won't happen.

I'm not calling for an immediate Phack reunion, I said I'd like to see Phyllis with a real man soon, hopefully a new character played by a great actor. I think Phyllis needs to be away from both Jack and Nick for a while. I think Mary Jane will be keeping Jack pretty occupied anyway.

    • Thank you very much for the information!!! All the episodes that person sells are the ones which appear or have appeared in youtube, and some have wrong dates.  Due to that, I guess some people, who have rare and inedite episodes, refuse to upload them in internet, because then, others make money. I hope ABC create a place in the net where we can see all the available episodes they must have, as Retro tv did with the Doctors!!!! Retro tv did an awesome job!!!! Have a look :

    • Dina was Jack, Ashley and Tracy's mom on Y&R.  Joanna was Lauren Fenmore's mother, played by Susan Seaworth-Hayes.
    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
