May 20, 200916 yr Member Does anyone know that song that played during the montage...I really liked it lol.
May 20, 200916 yr Member Totally skeevy. Like John with Jill. Like Victor with Nikki, Ashley and ESPECIALLY Sabrina. John and Jill never bothered me that much because if anyone was being taken advantage of in that relationship it was John. I don't remember the beginnings of Victor/Nikki and I'm too young to truly remember Victor/Ashly very well, so I can't judge. With Sabrina it was kind of gross, but it didn't have the sort of child bride vibe that Lily/Cane give off. A vibe that can only be magnified when real Philip hits the screen. I wish they had ended Cane/Lily once they knew TB was coming back. In fact I wish he were still married to Chloe and she hadn't been caught in her baby lie until real Phillip showed up. Chloe losing her meal ticket would have held a lot more drama for me. And even though Chloe is young too at least she comes off as a credible adult unlike CKLily.
May 20, 200916 yr Author Member So, some thoughts on today's episode: Why the hell is Murphy giving the toast? Has he has more than two conversations with Lily and Cane? The Tyra propping is sickening. This actress and character are not working, yet they insist on showing us how "good" she supposedly is with Neil and what a good person she is. Why is Neil even attracted to this woman, barring her physical attributes? They haven't established Neil's motives for going after this woman at all. Who cares? That was a nice exchange between Lily and Daniel where they talked about their past together. Does anyone buy Michael Baldwin as a straight man? I don't. Devon = Zzzzzzzzzzzz, who cares? If you take away the fact that I dislike most of those couples in the montage, I really liked the montage by itself, and the song was cute and very fitting. Edited May 20, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner

And they're pushing this in our faces after those amazing Karen scenes. It's like "she was right" but now, a few days later, Tyra is a freakin' saint? Does anyone buy Michael Baldwin as a straight man? I don't. Me neither. Devon = Zzzzzzzzzzzz, who cares? Nobody.

May 20, 200916 yr Member Does anyone buy Michael Baldwin as a straight man? I don't. As a representatives of the "Peoria housewives" segment of the population, I do buy him as straight. When someone told me he was gay, I wasn't shocked, but he never "pinged" for me. He also seems comfortable in his scenes. So if there is any gay person on the set of Y&R who can't sell straight I really don't think it's CLB.

May 20, 200916 yr Author Member So, Matt Kane is the new Casting Associate, apparently his first episode aired on May 7th, but I just noticed his name in the end credits today. I didn't realize Marissa Rodriguez was let go, oh well. The casting has generally been very strong lately, those dayplayer roles being no exception. Edited May 20, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner

If you take away the fact that I dislike most of those couples in the montage, I really liked the montage by itself, and the song was cute and very fitting. Neil should have given the toast not Murphy who barely knows this couple. I liked the vibe between Lily and Daniel also. I found Michael and Lauren sexy and always have. Their kisses were hot and CLB and TEB click. I don't find characters like Cane and Lily anymore convincing in a love scene and Phick's sex scenes are a joke at this point. I honestly think some let their knowledge of the actor's personal life color how they view the character, but if you look at the bed scene objectively it looked to me like a married couple getting it on in a playful way. That's why they call it acting. Now CLB can be a bit dramatic at other times, but I found his love scenes with TEB the most convincing of the couples on the show today. The actors are obviously good friends and comfortable with each other in these intimate scenes. I think Bryton is a decent actor, and although I don't care too much about his character, I think he deserves a story at this point.

Whoever his screen partner is Josh Morrow always looks like he is having the time of his life in love scenes. CLB looks comfortable in his scenes. He sells it well enough, but JM looks like he is ALL in. Doesn't matter if it's Sharon, Grace or Phyllis playing opposite. Now I guess you could claim that Josh is the better actor, but I really don't think that's the reason.

I just find his scenes with Phyllis so hollow at this point, but it's not the acting, it's the story and characters. Josh is definitely not the better actor, but he is good in love scenes and that is why he always has had so many.
