She doesn't go to him because she hears Sami calling austin's name. Carrie is embarrassed becausse of the way she left Salem and the way she blamed it all on him, so she's not ready to face the music yet. But the sighting rattles her to point that she finally decides to go and declare her feelings for her ex. She decides to return home for the holidays. Carrie makes it back to town and the hospital Christmas party. She goes out on the balcony where she's looking at the view , Austin comes out and says, "Beautiful night, isn't it?'
