I'm glad they are letting John Aniston & Joe Mascolo drive the story - it would be underwhelming if Philip and EJ were the leads in this fued.

Word. The feud is great when it involves scenes with Victor or Stefano.

Just a general thought I had, that maybe Toups or anyone else may be able to answer for me: Its almost 5 years since JER returned to Days, surely his contract is almost up with Corday now? Does anyone know when it expires? I wonder what Days will do with the extra cash? Perhaps they already have been lending against that future cash flow to keep the production standards up (and by up, I mean not go the GL route thank goodness) or will they use it to extend the cast perhaps? I kind of like the compact feeling to the show (I know I'm in the minority, but I feel it works well). i have a feeling the original plan was to bring back the DHs once JER's contract expired and Deidre's divorce is finalized, but thats just pure speculation on my behalf. Tbh, I dont think the show needs them, especially if they will only write crappy stories for them like Bo/Hope.

I loved both Monday and tuesday's shows. I was reflecting on it and I rate these last four months (i've been watching live since march and youtubing back episodes a bit back lol) as among the most consistently strong the show has been since 2002/3 (Brash/Cwikly). The show feels cohesive, well thought out and planned - Days never feels like this Because of Corday or NBC or Steve Kent or whoever, I don't expect it to last. All I know is that I'm entertained and hope it will continue. I watch Days and other soaps historically out of escapism I guess, so as long as I get that, I'm good.

I watched bits of the last few episodes and I was pleasantly surprised at how they're writing Victor. Whether it's in character or not I have no idea because Victor has been all over the place over the years (the low point must have been when he was carted off to the nursing home for several years), but they have finally found some combination of being ruthless without being a ridiculous caricature. Seeing John Aniston get to act again is such a treat.

Days is so horrible. I literally have not watch the show for 3 days...one word to describe the show right now -- boring.

Daniel is not on enough

Mia is not on enough

Sami is being destroyed with them putting her with Psycho Pedo Rafe

EJ is still stupid and still with the Ho 'Nicole'.

Adrianna needs a friend, maybe someone related to Mia.

for me, the ONLY good part to the show are Mia and Will, all they do is TALK and its boring because that is all they do, which is ashame because they are my favorite part to the show, when they are NOT ON, I do not bother watching. They need TO ACT like NORMAL TEENAGERS -- god Dena Higley doesn't know how to write Teens. If she wants some help, go and watch Season 1-4 of one tree hill.

But i wouldn't be counting down to Days getting the axe to be honest. They are working under a 40% budget cut, holding on pretty strong to number three in the ratings and getting a emmy nom? They have a lot of hope.

Now don't get me wrong, I love a good WB drama as much as the next person but I was still a teenager a mere 2 years ago and One Tree Hill couldn't be further from the teenage experience if it tried with its 25+ yr old actors who look older than any of the kids who truly looked too old for high school at my school, not to mention having the same dialogue problems as Dawsons Creek ie: NO one talks like that in high school.

Monday's episode was really good. It is interesting that EJ, Stefano, Philip and Victor are all going concerns for the show so nobody is obviously going to be the loser and scapegoat by the end of the story the way someone like Roman III (Dr whatever his name was who married Marlena and brainwashed her a couple of years back) obviously had to see all his schemes undone. The only thing is Victor makes no sense. He wants to make sure the DiMeras are in no position to retaliate and he obviously is not above murder and mayhem, but the idea of just killing the DiMeras to make sure they can't retaliate doesn't cross his mind. The whole feud basically could have ended by the second scene today (and thus ending EJ and Nicole, EJ and Sami, EJ and air) but instead Victor goes about this complex scheme. I guess he really just wants the DiMera empire more than seeing the feud actually end. Still, John Aniston is a gem, I just don't get why he turns down contracts. His recurring status doesn't matter because he is on as much as a contract player, but it just seems weird.

I know what you mean. I hope they don't go to far with Victor playing games like this, I don't want him to become a cartoon like Stefano. That's why I like Victor more, he is a classic gangster. He had the chance to kill Stefano and EJ, of course they won't be killed off. Only short-term characters are killed these days.
