Here's something I don't understand: if Patty Jane never flew in a jet before, then how did she get to GC in the first place? Stagecoach?

Yes... I don't think it's Diane. And if she ever would come back, AD is the first person they should ask.

Haiduk is great as Mary Jane, and I hope they'll find a way to keep her no matter what happens. If she turns out to be Patty, she will have a family and there are many ways for her to be kept on the show.

But, aren't all "regular planes" jets? That's how airlines refer to them, anyways.

I dunno, maybe Patty Jane's a Greyhound gal? *shrugs*

[When Harry Met Sally]Yes, yes, YES! YES![/When Harry Met Sally]

I love her, too. It's rare that I take to newbies so quickly on a soap, but I do with SH and Mary Jane. There is something as scary as Sheila about her -- and the reason Sheila was so scary was because she was human. Human and vulnerable and relatable. Once we saw that vulnerability we knew how unpredictable Sheila would be. MJ is the same -- and her humanistic, flawed reactions, I think, are her saving grace, too. If Phyllis and Michael are any indication, MJ could be redeemed down the line. And her path from plotting to Da Crazy to redemption could be fascinating to watch, as long as the lovely Miss Haiduk keeps playing her. Yes, I know y'all hate the Baldwins, but Michael was once one of my favorite characters for a long time.

Yes, I know, hence my post.

I only started watching this show in the LML era, about a month before Carmen Mesta was killed.

With no preconceptions of how a character would or wouldn't act, and no nostalgic longing for scenes opening with close-ups of bouquets, I found her show to be much better written than the show that currently exists. Her stories were paced better, she played character beats better, and the dialogue was definitely much more engaging, especially on the episodes credited to Bernard Lechowick.

I think everyone was too wrapped up in the hysteria of 'this isn't the way my Y&R is supposed to be!' to realize that it was a actually a very good soap opera.
