Members JSROCKS
Why not??? His dark side is one of the reasons I find him interesting. He is unlike any of Victor's other children and that's refreshing. I too want it to be Adam because it would mean that his dark-side is generic. Just think about it, Victor had no hand in raising Adam so there was no molding of him(Adam) into what he(Victor) wanted. Adam on the other hand has many of Victors' characteristics-- he's tenacious when it comes to getting what he wants ( Harvard education, Wall Street job, etc), he knows how to hold a grudge and will go to any length to seek his revenge( we've seen that), he's becoming very adepth at using people(we see that now). HE IS A YOUNGER VICTOR. Looks like all of Hope's fears have come to pass and hopefully TIIC will keep Adam on this current path because the inter-play between the two of them (Victor/Adam) could prove to be a gold mind. Members JackPeyton
I agree. More than a dark side i want to see a dark twisted somewhat demented perhaps even evil son of a bitch emerge.
Members Ann_SS
ITA. Victor locked that guy in his basement for goodness sake. If Adam turned out to be an even more dangerous Victor, I would be thrilled.
Members Juliajms
I can live with that, but only if he can have a life in GC. I don't want him turning into Sheila and only being around every few years during sweeps. He's going to have to have some kind of heart and a few people that he actually gives a damn about. Members JackPeyton
So you want fully fleshed out character who happens to be way on the dark side instead of an over the top cartoon villain? me too.
Members dm.
We all do, I'm sure.
Members Juliajms
I want him to be like Todd on (OLTL) sort of. Todd has been too cartoonish at times, but that is the kind of character I want him to be. Not the town pariah (who can't get a woman or a family), which is what I'm afraid will happen. I don't see any signs of this happening though. If he'd develop a soft spot for Victoria, Abby or even Ashley, I'd be feeling a lot more optimistic. Members JSROCKS
Wouldn't that diminish him somewhat??? After all these three seem to have(in Adams view) a place in Victor's heart, a place where Adam can only aspire to be, and therein lies the conflict/rub. If that makes any sense at all. Members JackPeyton
I agree. However they do need to give him some soft spots somewhere. Perhaps Heather? But honestly, id much rather them have this i hate you but i love you angle played.
Members Sapounopera
My thoughts exactly! I see Adam as Y&R's version of (my favorite OLTL character) Todd. I get the feeling that once Billy Miller joined the cast as Billy, TPTB had no idea what to do with Adam. The show could use a real bad boy and there are so many possibilities.. Members Juliajms
I think Heather or some other romantic relationship is a given (or should be), but mutual romantic relationship are always selfish on some level. That's why I hope they'll give some family member some sort of power over his emotions. It doesn't have to be right now, but down the road if he gets to stay. It could have been Hope, but she's obviously out of the question now.
Members rhythmchyc
I want him to be exactly like Victor. Todd should be in jail for life or executed at least 3 times now for all the crimes he's committed. Adam needs to scheme and go on with his life exactly as Victor has, without breaking the law. "The family" working as a humanizing element for the villains in these soaps has been played out. If we could find a weakness, a soft spot that Adam has that's not necessarily women or even human, I'd love it. Like if he loved the farm and was working to reclaim it for his mom. Adam's biggest insecurities lie in his dad and his mom... as far as we know. There's his life in Harvard. If we could peek into how that experience possibly formed another weakness, another form of motivation for him, he'd live on Y&R beyond his scheming to exact his revenge against Victor, Jack, and Heather. Also, Adam going crazy may not be a bad thing either. Kevin went crazy and he's still on the show. Adam will not be as potent a force as a villain, but it doesn't mean that he'll be dropped from his contract, either.
Members JSROCKS
AHH, the classic conundrum. He likes Heather very much BUTbecause of her eager legal beaver attitude owes her some pay back. He doesn't seem to be above using her to get under Victor's skin but still he LIKES her. WILL HE EVENTUALLY THROW HER UNDER THE BUS?? Maybe, as long as it's a slow moving local and not an express. Isn't that what Victor would do?? What to do, what to do-- ahh there's the rub. Priceless.
Members rhythmchyc
I don't even think he likes Heather anymore. I have a feeling the whole time he was with Heather during his birthday, he was thinking, "The bitch put me in jail!!" Not, "I love her, even though she put me in jail." I'm thinking right now, Hope was the type of person who didn't B.S. with people. She was very upfront about, maybe, everything in her life. She taught him the world was either Black or White, not gray. This is the type of person Adam grew up with, not these two-faced people who betrayed him or trounced on him because of their own shady characteristics or their personal quarrel with what's just. Adam can't deal with any of these people, this pain. And because he's so spiteful, he'll act in the same way to get what he wants because when he tried the other way, the nice/punk "I'm begging for your help" way, it got him alone and in jail. Members Khan
Heather was created back in '79? So, that would mean she's at least 15 years older than Adam. Yet, they look to be about the same age. Fascinating.
