If TPTB want a "new Dru" (and it's clear they don't have that with Eva Marcille), they need look no further than Chene Lawson's Yolanda. Lawson was amazing in that role and Jack Smith was a fool to let her go rather than developing the character more.

Y&R should cut their losses with Tyra and bring Yolanda back. That would be a step in the right direction to revitalizing the Winters/Hamilton family.

So then they could definitely bring her back as the same doctor.

It's the writers. But they don't know how to convincingly write Black characters because they're hindered by something and/or they're apathetic. I truly don't believe they can't write for them.
