Y&R: Bring back Chene Lawson as Yolanda

  • Members

If TPTB want a "new Dru" (and it's clear they don't have that with Eva Marcille), they need look no further than Chene Lawson's Yolanda. Lawson was amazing in that role and Jack Smith was a fool to let her go rather than developing the character more.

Y&R should cut their losses with Tyra and bring Yolanda back. That would be a step in the right direction to revitalizing the Winters/Hamilton family.

So then they could definitely bring her back as the same doctor.

But then there would be two black female doctors on the same show. Southerners would be outraged.

Bringing in new minority characters is crap.

No matter HOW pretty they may be or well they act they aren't written for. EVER.

Lighting can strike twice.

Nuh uh.

Much different time.

Much better acting.

Much better writing.

That's like expecting 50+ characters to drive story on ABC Daytime.

That will happen the day Audrey, Addie & Opal get frontburner romances.

It's the writers. But they don't know how to convincingly write Black characters because they're hindered by something and/or they're apathetic. I truly don't believe they can't write for them. They're writers, dammit. You're gonna bring someone several people back from the dead with some sort of logic but you can't make Tyra believable? Gimme a break!

Eh. Nevermind.

This coming from an Australian? Being a southerner myself, I don't think so at all!

I'm not a southerner and I don't understand this logic at all. Will southerners refuse to believe that Black people can be doctors cause they're "racist" and "ignorant"? Would TPTB care enough like it's 1968?

I mean, we all know Black people can't be represented well enough but I don't think it's due to one focus group.

It's y&r_fan's Southern Racism, I tell you!

This is not the first time she's said this. This is quite strange.

Vivica's too busy pimping the Psychic Friends Network.

Dionne must've been busy helping "cou'in Whitney" de-tox.

If we can get a black man as President, surely we can get a good black s/l on Y&R!!

Well, like I always say, "KEEP HOPE ALIVE!".
